In God’s realm of “time”, One day in creation could be a million or a billion years in our time. When God authored scripture using man as the writter, I doubt they had an understanding of what a BILLION years could possibly mean. God inspired them to use words and such that they could wrap their minds around and understand.
God existed Before time, not the other way around. So, One year in the story of creation just very well have been a Billion earth years.
The word “day” is used 123 times in genesis. Every time it is used it means a 24 hour day.
If the author of genesis wanted the creation “days” to mean any other time period they would have simply said so.
Unlike the readers of a Flat Bible I saw revelation.
They had not read Peter yet.
And Genesis was written by several persons beyond Moses as was the custom at the time.
The days of Genesis 1 were a latter addition. P over a Elohist source.
