We usually go out for brunch Easter Sunday, this year we decided ti just hang out at home. Do you all have any food traditions for Easter?

Planning on making
cinnamon buns.

Shrimp cocktail
Steak on the grill
A small ham (I love ham)
And a salad
Whatever veggie I find

Easter candy for dessert

That sounds delicious! I usually cook a leg of lamb with roast potatoes and whatever vegetables looked good in the store. Plus pie.

Ham seems to be the dish of choice with my family. It’s alright, I’m not a huge ham fan and view it as more of a garnish than a main dish.

We are having our sons daughter in laws and grandsons (aged 3 and 4) over to join my husband mother & I for dinner.
We are having Gammon glazed with honey and mustard ( a family favourite my husband makes)
Roast Lamb
Roast Beef
Roast Potatoes
Roast Parsnips
Mashed potatoes (for the young children)
Yorkshire Puddings
Cauliflower & Broccolli cheese
Brasied Carrots
Gravy!

We are usually too full for dessert so I have some chocolate brownies and cream and
Cadbury’s chocolate easter eggs for everyone! If anyone is hungry,

Happy Easter

God bless

Whoa tbcrawford! Holy ambitious meal, Batman! Too bad I won’t be in the neighbourhood… :sad_yes:

My friend you would be very welcome to join us! 🙂 My husband likes to cook the majority of the meal.He does the gammon lamb and beef and cauliflower cheese. I prepare the vegetables and cook the boring stuff! lol.Oh and help wash up & tidy.😉 So credit has to go to my husband.

Your dinner sounds delicious also.Roast Lamb and veggies and pie …yummy! 🙂

We are making brunch this year. Making blueberry blintzes, tomato, mozzarella and basil frittata, candied bacon and Creme brûlée with fresh fruit for dessert.

All of those menus look great! I will be going home to SW Iowa for Easter. I have no idea what my Mom has in store for lunch on Easter, just hope that several of my siblings will be able to make it home as well so we can sit around Saturday night having a good time with adult beverages.

Thanks! 🙂 And, if it wasn’t so far away, my husband and I would have brought a bottle of wine and some flowers!

Teresa, that is some feast! My family and I will be arriving on the next flight! 😉
Just leave the tidying up to us! 😃
Wishing you a wonderful holiday with your family and a blessed Easter, my friend!

Oh, and since I also have an Italian heritage as well as the Irish, we always had a pasta course, such as lasagne, or stuffed shells, and then another course with Leg of lamb or fresh ham and mashed potatoes and vegetables. Yeah, as we are now all older, we are jsut making it easy on ourselves ans cutting back. So just the pasta and maybe some chicken parm and salad. That might leave room for dessert–cheesecake! But probably not for a long time after…

Hi! Since I’m an RCIA sponsor (and attending the Vigil Mass
on Holy Saturday) we decided this year to actually go out to eat!
But your menu plans sounds yummy. Happy Easter!:heaven:

Yes…Lamb with carrot/celery/and Onions…Homemade Manicotte, Escarole and Chicken Soup, Broccoli Rabe, Baked Artichokes, Roasted Potatoes…

Sweet Bread, and Cheesecake. 🙂

I’m cooking my first Easter dinner this year. We’re having honey mustard glazed ham, routabega dish (MIL’s delicous recipe!), ‘Sister Mary’s carrots’ (carrots baked with horseradish and mayo, topped with gluten-free rice crispies for us gluten free folk), salad, and very berry pie with a quinoa flour crust. Yum! However, all of yours sounds much more exciting… I’m still at the stage where I’m trying out new recipes on people because I haven’t cooked many (any) big meals on my own. Don’t tell … :o At least it’s only my husband and our two friends since we all live so far away from our families. Happy Easter everyone!

  • Homemade fried chicken
  • Homemade potatoe salad
  • Homemade Spinach bacon salad,
  • Homemade roles
  • Key Lime Cheesecake, not homemade, but from the Cheesecake Factory!
  • Nap.😃

Thanks! 🙂 And, if it wasn’t so far away, my husband and I would have brought a bottle of wine and some flowers!
Oh that would have been so lovely 🙂 Happy Easter to you my friend and enjoy your delicious Easter meal! God bless

Patricia you would be welcome anytime! :)Your Easter meal sounds absolutely gorgeous.
I wish you a very Happy Easter my friend to you and all your family.

Ham
Potato Salad
Fordhook Lima Beans
Creamed Corn
Deviled Eggs
Rolls/Bread

Tea, soft drinks
Cakes, Pies, ect.

And all this is after our Sunrise Service at 7, followed by a church breakfast, then another morning service. Full day!

Everyone’s meals sound amazing! For the whole Lent through Easter food traditions, we do:

-homemade soft pretzels/fasting on Ash Wednesday
-hot cross buns/fasting on Good Friday
-cheese plate just before Easter Vigil and meat pies just after
-dutch babies + fruit for Easter morning (once we have kids and have lots of leftover dyed and boiled eggs, we’ll incorporate my family’s “traditional” creamed eggs on toast for breakfast)
-Easter Dinner: roasted rack of lamb, goat cheese mashed potatoes, fresh string beans, whole wheat rolls, and lemon pound cake for dessert

All of our traditions revolve around food, haha 🙂

Leg of lamb (mint jelly on the side), mashed potatoes, and green beans.

My wife is also baking a cake topped with strawberries and cream cheese frosting.

The leg of lamb is more of a tradition than everything else; however, we might also get a ham…the leg of lamb is sort of small. I would typically think almost six pounds would be enough for five adults and a toddler, but it looks really small.

I will probably go eat at my in laws house and will let you know what she made. She cooks a big meal on holidays.
