Someone in Jordan told me they just celebrated Palm Sunday yesterday ( april 20), and that Easter is coming up. Could this be a Orthodox/Catholic or something else? I have never heard such a thing.

Due to the fact that this is a double leap month year in the Jewish calendar, we have just entered Pesach starting yesterday. So, if Easter is supposed to be in sync with Passover, and a reading of the Holy Thursday & Good Friday liturgies would indicate that, then it would seem that Easter should be coming up this week.

I would think it’s because of the use of a different calendar system for Judaism as opposed to Western Christianity. This would also explain why Eastern Orthodox Holy Week has a different time from the Catholic/Western Holy Week.So when and how did the Jewish and Christian calendars get out of sync?
