If disobedience is a mortal sin, what sins are venial? What is a sin that is not disobedience?

As I said in post 30, the Church does not list some actions as “mortal” and some as “venial.” It is impossible to say that every person that breaks the Friday obligation is in mortal sin, even if you know they are aware of the obligation, know that it is Friday, etc. I agree that the sin implicated is disobedience but I cannot agree that disobedience is always a mortal sin.

And Eve ate of the fruit and gave some to her husband to eat and because they ate of the fruit, they were banished from the garden of eden and all of their off-spring were stained with original sin. Does that sound rational to you.
Where did I say that the story of Adam and Eve was rational? It’s obviously a primitive creation story rich in symbolism and allegory.

And it also shows how important obedience is in the eyes of God and how disobedience is dealt with.
