An article on Cathnews.com reports that ecumenist Rev. Gunther Glassmann is urging the Catholic Church to revoke Martin Luther’s Excommunication.

How can he insist that. The reason why he was excommunicated was he started his own church. He is truly a Heretic. The Protestant churches and the rift that was created from it is not Apostolic. and Thus only a Community.

There is a big difference between someone who is misinformed and someone who denies the Truth.

Sancta Maria, Mater Dei, Ora Pro Nobis Peccatoribus!

It’s one thing to say that a Joan of Arc or a Galileo was wrongly excommunicated and reverse their excommunications (not that I think Galileo actually was, but you get the drift), but Luther is another matter - he was unequivocally well outside the pale of what one could think and still be part of the Catholic church.

Lifting the excommunication would mean that Luther was justified in what he did. NO WAY IN H***. He was a heretic then and is still a heretic after death.
