To apply this thought process to its logical conclusion then we would have no love left to give our children or family.

The fact is that the more love that we give God, the more love we have for others.
:amen: That is a logical fact of the Bible!

I do not think of myself as a religious person. So that does not apply to me.

I’m very sorry to hear that…Perhaps that is the reason you are so:cool: bitter & unhappy??

Jesus also made her the mother of John, an apostle of Christ. You’re higher than John as to treat her as only a “woman”?
And may I ask why you don’t entertain problem of the visible fact that you’re a self-righteous and arrogant person?
Jesus called his mother WOMAN in the scriptures. Does that mean that I have to call her queen of heaven?

So, do you not love your own family? After all, from your reasoning it sounds like loving God takes away all your ability to love others.
Seems to me, with his logic, he only loves God and himself… Nobody else… Very biblical if I might say…

I am not trying to stop you to pray to Mary. I would like to know if loving and honouring Mary is against the first commandment, where we are instructed to honour and love God with all our strenght. If you are honouring God with all your strenght, how do you have strenght left to honour Mary?
This is unmitigated hogwash… am I the only one who sees the drastic lack of any logic and God given common sense in this post.

By this thinking we are not to revere our parents for fear that we may become idolators!

By this logic we cannot fall in love and truly love our spouses and children as God intends for us to do.

By this insane logic we cannot love and revere the saints and the holy members of the Body of Christ who have gone before us (many of whom paid for their faith with their lives!) or fellowship with us even now.

Is this against the 1st commandment? No, nor even the two greatest commandments that you allude to. You imply worship but it’s blind ignorance and illogic since Catholics have pointed out to you about a million times that we do not offer anyone but almighty God worship.

Easily…“I can do all these things in him who strengtheneth me.” (Philippians 4:13)

St Paul claims that he knew the word of God fully.
Col.1:25 I became its servant according to God’s commission that was given to me for you, to make the word of God fully known, 26 the mystery that has been hidden throughout the ages and generations but has now been revealed to his saints.

Paul does not recommend praying to Mary. Why not?
You make a very common error. You actually have no idea what Paul recommended. Rather, you assume, without reason, that the entire gospel and practice of the faith must be written in the scriptures.

Jesus called his mother WOMAN in the scriptures. Does that mean that I have to call her queen of heaven?
The word he used, which we translate as ‘woman’, was actually a very respectful term - and yes, if a ‘woman’ happens to be the mother of the King of Heaven, who he in obedience to the 4th/5th commandment would have honoured greatly, then what else would she be but Queen?

Is it against Roman Catholicism to communicate with Jesus?
Nice dodge…and don’t be obtuse…you know full well that we pray to Our Lord and all of the Holy Trinity all the time. What’s the matter? It’s not so “hilarious” when Catholics can answer you without blinkin’ an eye and your arguments shred in the light of day and you can’t resort to your usual nasty one liners and wisecracks.

If you have something of substance bring it on! I don’t think you have anything but empty rhetoric and propaganda.

Anyone who’s interested PM me to see this guy’s real opinion of us here at CAF.

Thank you for yor loving attitude towards me. I am convinced that RCism is the true church and some of its loyal members have shown their love for me.

So the first commandment to love God with all our strenght is not to be taken seriously? Instead Browning recommends that I love Mary? What inspired book wrote Browning?
I believe that you may need to bone up a bit on the 10 Commandments.
To begin with there are (surprise!) TEN of them. One of which is “Honor thy father and thy mother, that thy days may be long upon the land”.
Or does the  Random Heretical Made-Up Religion:eek: reject God’s commandments right along with His mother???

In today’s world if you don’t call a female by her name but just use the generic term, Woman, then you are insulting her.

Jesus did not live in today’s world though. He lived 2,000 years ago during a time when women had very little rights or freedoms.

You must interpret the scripture by taking the social context of the time into account.

Also, If Jesus was being disrespectful to his mother by using the term woman in the manner that St. Hilarious is suggesting then he could not be the messiah because he would have been breaking one of the commandments. To Honor Your Father and Mother.

Perhaps you are not aware of how very negative and sarcastic that you sound. Considering that you are disrespectful of our faith, how do you expect people to respond? The same questions that you asked, have been asked before and gotten polite responses.

I wish you know why you think that way. If you say our lovely mother Mary is devil then you are telling us that Jesus who nailed on the CROSS because of you and me is devil.

Good this is October, you can start your novena to apologize to our lovely MOM Mary if you are just asking and see what are the reaction from others but if you do not know then you have been forgiven by her. You know how mothers loves their kids. Mother Mary LOVES you than anything else.

We all love you too!!!🙂

Mary is our mother as Jesus said on the cross before dying

Do not forget to pray ROSARY this month

Mary

StH, how would you feel if we barged into your house and told you you were paying too much attention to your mother? That’s how strongly we feel about Mary.

She absolutely is our spiritual mother, as she is the mother of all who believe in her son, (yes, even those like you who have doubts about how important she is).

Through the blessings and prayers of Jesus and the prayers of Mary your mother, may you learn to love her abundantly as He did, and so be ever more blessed.

Jesus called his mother WOMAN in the scriptures. Does that mean that I have to call her queen of heaven?
Woman is a term of respect…if he showed her that respect in public perhaps you should take a hint.

Don’t waste your time on the “Queen of Heaven” argument…it doesn’t wash because by that logic then it is wrong also to call Our Lord the King of Kings since that title belonged to pagan anti-God kings in the OT. Just becasue a title was used before by someone undeserving in no way makes it wrong when it is finally true, and Revelation 12:1 certainly portrays the Blessed Virgin as a heavenly queen though none of us will ever say she is divine or that we should adore her. Only anti-Catholics will believe that rubbish! Mary’s intercession in John 2 certainly shows that she had already begun to understand her role as Giberah (Queen Mother) of the Messiah. But you missed that somewhere in your Bible didn’t you?

May the Lord Jesus bless you… You are what we call you. And you don’t do anything but dodge those true claims. The truth is hard to take and it will take real guts to accept it. Apparently, you haven’t got what it takes to accept what you really are…

I’ll pray for you. And I’m sure you’re gonna pray for us too… Coz, despite our differences, I know that’s what Christians do…
And by the way… May our mother Mary pray for you too… 👍

It’s pre-coffee time.

You must be unaware of the fact that in Jewish culture, calling Mary “woman” is the same as today, calling the queen of England “ma’am”, which is simply a proper & highly respectful form of her title.
But, as I said, I tend to call the Queen of Heaven “mother”.
