Duh… if the Levitical priesthood wasn’t abolished, then how is non-levite Jesus our high priest (I’m Catholic BTW)?

Again, I’m a novice at all this, but aren’t there often many layers of meaning in the actions and words of the bible, both OT and NT?

But isn’t Mary a Levite? I know Elizabeth, Mary’s cousin, descended from Aaron, right? I know that doesn’t make it proof positive, but I thought tradition says that Mary was descended from the Levites as well. I’m definately not sure, though.

I thought Mary was also of the line of David. Protoevangelium of James…verse 10.

If you are experiencing something spiritual, and it is not the Holy Spirit… it must be a devil. This is a very dangerous claim you are making!

If the original poster is making the claim that the approved apparitions of Mary were actually visions of the devil, can he please explain why in the world the devil would be asking us to pray for peace and be calling us to Christ?

What - like joy, peace, justification, redemption, forgiveness of sins, adoption as a child of God, & a few other such things mentioned by St.Paul ? They are certainly spiritual - as is love of neighbour. The grace we gain from reading the Bible is spiritual too.​

I have not seen anyone refer to your beliefs as Satanic here. Please stop referring to the mother of our savior in that fashion. This should be beneath you.

I would encourage patience. You seem to have some experience with this person, and I may be way off of the mark, but she/he seems to be merely cautioning the subject of her statement and rightly so. Many a protestant would offer such caution. It is a reaction to fear for one’s bretheren, not a lack of respect to their beliefs.

Groovy…can you show us any passage of the Word of God that uses these terms for our salvation experiences? I don’t think so. Now whose going beyond the Word of God?

Faith, though not all of a relationship, is an aspect of it. To “sup” with someone was to enjoy a meal with someone, but in an intimate fashion. (Friendly intimate, not that other kind. )

There’s a reason that that is not a cannonical gospel. Its validity was questioned, even by the church fathers, such as Origen. THe writer was apparently ignorant of certain jewish customs which James would have been aware of. Its writing is also dated well after James’ death.

True, but that is all from god’s spirit. I would point out to the person that you are replying to, that we are connected to mary by god’s holy spirit and only by his spirit.

Filth is the best I can do.

I’ve posted enough stuff against the Catholic church that I would probably have been banned on some Protestant forums if I said the reverse on their forum. I think the mods have a lot of grace.
