I was appalled at Malkin’s Empire Gall - particularly, when you think they honor Communist Russia and the Westminster Dog Show. However, I have been duly chided by someone who says Malkin’s Bldg. is private enterprise, and in that light, he shouldn’t be forced – NOT MY opinion - but someone else.
I plan to put blue and white lights in my window. Suggestions, anyone on how? Must I take out Christmas lights or are electric candles available in stores?
Now, I’m going to sound like an upstart. While I know Saint Mother Theresa wouldn’t want the hullaballoo, wouldn’t it be great if throngs of people gathered - like a blue and white ribbon - in a quiet demonstration - just walking AROUND the Empire State Bldg. that night - carrying ***blue and white lights ***- around the WHOLE BLOCK ! Keep in mind - this is tourist season, and Empire State Bldg. is in a busy thoroughfare - as well as being visited / viewed by thousands daily. No small gesture to my mind, and I wonder if a permit would be granted. To me, that would be a newsworthy tribute - and the sidewalk is public domain…hmmmmm.
