Saying in the name Jesus Christ get out does indeed work. It did for me. I will post some info here from the website that I found a number of years ago, that helped me.

Aliens in the Book of Revelation?
Revelation 16:12-21 New Revised Standard Version Catholic Edition (NRSVCE)

12 The sixth angel poured his bowl on the great river Euphrates, and its water was dried up in order to prepare the way for the kings from the east. 13 And I saw three foul spirits like frogs coming from the mouth of the dragon, from the mouth of the beast, and from the mouth of the false prophet. 14 These are demonic spirits, performing signs, who go abroad to the kings of the whole world, to assemble them for battle on the great day of God the Almighty.
  1. Frogs and “gray aliens” both have large eyes, and similar facial features.
  2. Frogs and gray aliens have similar hand and finger structure
  3. Both “gray aliens” and frogs have no distinguishable external genitalia…
  4. Frogs and gray aliens both have no hair. “Frogs have no hair"
  5. Both frogs and “gray aliens” absorb through their skin. .
  6. Both frogs and “gray aliens” reproduce through external reproductive means.

That is false. It is an idea being spread that has no factual basis.

@edwest211 What is exactly false, the Book of Revelation? The Bible? The discription of the foul spirits looking like frogs?

Please explain yourself.

Ok that the alien phenomenon is a deception the fallen angels are causing. right? Yeah another false reality to cloud our ability to percieve reality.

Have you read the story “Dyads”? It is in one of the “Infinite Space, Infinite God” anthologies. Best. Story. Ever. about faith and another sentient race.

MY CONCERN is, if there are advanced intelligent aliens out there, they could be more than capable of manipulating us, even messing with religion. Maybe they are behind apparitions and miracles, etc.

In that case, maybe they CREATED entire religions in the first place.
Let’s see if I understand this. They are ancient and intelligent and technologically advanced, and they deceive us. Why would they want to do that?

If they are older and smarter and wiser than we are, wouldn’t they have a greater respect for the truth? Wouldn’t they have a stronger commitment to communicate truthfully?

not if they are a deception that comes from the fallen angels

Here’s another way to look at it:

If they are an old race, intelligent, wise, and technologically advanced, they could not have survived this long unless they were also cooperative, benevolent, and socially and morally advanced.

On the other hand, if they were self-absorbed, pleasure-seeking, greedy, power-hungry, proud, and dishonest, they would still be fighting wars and destroying their own worlds, much as we “intelligent” humans are doing here on earth.

But the premise of this thread is that all of our religion is an invention of the aliens. I think that is what the OP is worrying about. Your reply would suggest that God, in this hypothetical universe, created us and, rather than revealing his truth to us, abandoned us to the fallen angels.

I don’t believe aliens could create a false salvation history. False community of Saints. False mytical experiences of countless people age past to now. False Jesus False Resurrection. I mean why ? That’s a lot of work
This was my response

I agree with what you wrote, and I would add that if we assume that God loves us, he would not withhold his truth from the human race and allow us to be misled by a race of aliens or fallen angels. The premise of the OP would require one to assume that God does not love us. That may be my best argument that it is not possible.

It’s not real. It’s just a story to add to the various other nonsense stories that have been created to ‘explain’ this phenomenon.

I dunno, I know a few people who think life on earth was planted here by aliens. The ol’ switcharoo God with aliens.

But the root of the problem is the question of what aliens are…do they exist…do they fit in with Catholicism…

I would say no, aliens most definitely do not fit with Catholicism. God became man. Only man. There is a reason He did not become an angel or a martian, because He came to redeem man. Never once was it mentioned by saints or in the Bible that others exist. I think it is highly possible given the large amount of very credible alien abduction stories that something is occurring. I think it’s pretty fishy that these creatures are often so hostile…that they often look reptilian…that they can fly in aircraft that magically “defies” the laws of physics…and the fact that these stories haven’t really been popping up until the 60s (mostly)… and they often have messages about them eventually coming to save the human race…honestly we really shouldn’t outlaw the demonic idea outright. The conspiracies have left doubt in not only my mind at one point, but the OPs…perhaps it’s all just a clever idea crafted by the evil one?

Actually, we don’t know that. There are a lot of things not mentioned in the Bible. It’s not a science textbook. The Bible was given to US, for OUR salvation.

Maybe we are alone in the universe. But I’m not going to put my own limits on what God – omnipotent and omniscient – can or would do. We simply do not know.

And as for the UFO’s “defying the laws of physics” – they may defy the known laws of physics, but only that. Our ancestors probably would have thought that many of our common items were magic.

We know for certain there is only the Holy Trinity, three persons in one God, one being man. No fourth other martian god.n

Blessed Anne Emmerich has said in her biblical revelations that man was created in order to replace the fallen angels. There would be no necessity for other reptilian looking creatures.

The existence of other races would in no way require the existence of other gods. God is the God of everyone and everything – here on earth, or elsewhere. How can you put a limit on Him?

And with all due respect to Blessed Anne, she is not the Magisterium. Also, we have very little idea of what other races in the universe might look like. A few, isolated, possible sightings don’t prove much. If the only creature I ever saw in the ocean was a small fish, would I be reasonable to therefore deny the existence of cephalopods and sharks and rays and clams and coral . . .

I see a lot of statements to the effect of “intelligent aliens would not likely/probably not be interested in Earth.” But I’m not sure how you can reasonably figure out the probability of such a thing. Besides, sure maybe as a whole an extra-terrestrial species would be too smart to care, but look at us humans: we have varying interests and endeavors. It could be that the equivalent of a middle school alien class project decided to experiment on/study us humans. Or maybe only the rogue mischievous aliens want to mess around with Earth, while there governments for the most part don’t allow it. I know I’m using my imagination and it’s silly – but you get the idea. The point is, you can scoff at the idea that aliens would be interested in us.

But even if aliens were vastly more intelligent than us, I don’t see any reason why they wouldn’t want to interact in SOME way with perhaps the only other life in the Universe they know of. It could be that ETs are nevertheless very interested to have found other intelligent life in the Universe, even if on a lower level of intelligence.

But back to original post and question: Basically, what arguments are there that aliens probably are not behind religion?

Essentially, the thinking goes like this: The origin of Christianity is based in a miracle, the Resurrection. And the Christian faith in general is rooted in revelation and fantastic deeds of both Old and New Testaments. And the church is, to this day, sustained by miracles, supernatural phenomena, apparitions, and so on.

So there’s a very good case that something extra-human or non-human is behind the Catholic faith, at the very least. Therefore, God exists. However, one could also say, therefore, a super-intelligent extra-terrestrial species exists and has been mingling with human affairs. And still others would say, yes, we have confirmation of this through UFOs and alien abduction cases and so on.

My only real counter to such thinking would be to say that, even if aliens did exist, there would still be the same arguments for the existence of God. That’s the only real start I have…

This whole issue may sound silly to many of you, but it’s something in the imagination that personally proves counter-productive to my own faith. Maybe that’s because I don’t quite dismiss all those alien and UFO sightings and stories.
