I’m sure people with no real argument called him names (“vaxxer” or some such) when they read this, but not wanting a potentially rapidly developed (perhaps too rapidly?) vaccine
for a disease that has almost no mortal threat to you is not unreasonable of Musk.

LOS ANGELES, September 30, 2020 (LifeSiteNews) — One of the world’s most famous innovators has declared that neither he nor any member of his family will be taking a coronavirus vaccine.

Elon Musk, 49, the aerospace and Tesla pioneer, has taken a skeptical approach to the Covid-19 pandemic, keeping open his factory despite . . . lockdown orders. . . .

. . . the “billionaire entrepreneur” stated his firmly held belief that lockdowns are irrational.

“What we have is something with a very low mortality rate and high contagion,” he told Swisher.

“And something that is of low risk to a young person is of high risk to an older person. Essentially, the right thing to do would be to not have done a lockdown for the whole country. (…) I think anyone who is at risk should be quarantined until the storm passes.”

Musk called the lockdown a “no-win situation” and said it had “diminished” his “faith in humanity” because people have been irrational in the face of the virus. He told his interviewer that neither he nor his family will get the vaccine.

“I’m not at risk for COVID, nor are my kids,” he said.

The businessman told his interviewer that he and his SpaceX company had been working as usual and did not “skip a day.”

“We had national security clearance because we were doing national security work,” Musk explained. . . .

Of course he opposes lockdowns. He needs his workplaces to stay open so he can send his staff to work for his company that has never made a profit.

I guess I can appreciate not wanting to take a rushed vaccine (what even are the dangers there?), but the point of everyone taking a vaccine is that it stops the disease from spreading through the whole population, it isn’t just to protect the individual that takes it.

It is of a mortal threat to me.

I have asthma. Very good chance of COVID killing me. Asthma attacks have nearly killed me, so very likely COVID will.

However I am suspicious of the vaccine, especially when its development has been rushed.

I agree, but that doesn’t mean they don’t ultimately have differing interests. The worker needs the employer to eat, and the employer needs the worker to make money, but that is where their interests end.

The slave might need his master to feed him, and the master may be conditioned to feed the slave to stop him dying, but that doesn’t mean their interests align.

And the leftist Governor gives in and allows it in California. Even as the much less populated Holy Sacrifice of the Mass is still being supressed.

Well you think about it for awhile Regular_Atheist.

Ask yourself if there could just be any other possibilities to consider in the risk-benefit ratio than with what you have come up with here.

See if there are more factors than you are stating that NEED to be considered.

Other people are sick too. Not just you. And they choose not to live their lives this way.

I know a guy very well (😄). This guy has a malignancy and is on immunosupressive agents who refuses to live that way.

Pick your own risks.

But we need to allow others to do so as well.

It will of course be your call if they ever even get a vaccine up and running.

I think we will see the corona virus will be endemic (kind of all over and we just have to live with it).
