Wouldn’t holding the next G7 meeting at a Trump facility be a case of cashing in on his position (if that is where it ends up being held at)?
Not if they won the contract in a fair bid (thus charging the lowest costs for the services rendered)

I happen to agree with Horton about the leftist media. Many here have demeaning opinions of President Trump they are not afraid to post.
I choose not to waste my time reading, listening to or watching leftist media.
Garbage is what we throw away - it is of no more use.
If I am hungry, I sure am not going to the garbage can to search for food.

We can all choose what we like to watch, read, listen to when it comes to
news media.

We all have our own opinions. Many here clearly express their dislike and
disfain for President Trump so I don’t see the problem.in expressing an opinion
on leftist media.

It is an ethical norm in government to exempt oneself in a conflict of interest from any such bidding, as the idea of a fair bid is rather elusive when one’s boss is an party in such a bid. But like I said, that is an ethical norm.

Then you have never been REAL hungry! (I am being facetious. We need food, but we don’t need the opinion of the media. Personally I only need the facts, and can draw my own conclusions.) And for facts you cannot have a better source than Trump’s own words, freely available on his twitter feed. Available here:

I get it. I listen to a YouTuber who is a center left, who was a Bernie 2016 door to door supporter, and now is a Tulsi Gabard supporter. But he really dislikes the trash coming from his side. He uses mainly left wing media to give his opinions. Tim Pool. He tries to clean out the trash.

You seem to be so upset by my comments. I’ve watched news from both sides and I’ve read articles written in the left wing papers.

The left seems to always have some drama and angst about all thing Trump. If the fact that I have an opinion about all this that doesn’t align with yours is causing you distress, you may need to think about what it means to be an American.

Your assumption about my mental status is incorrect.
The left seems to always have some drama and angst about all thing Trump.
The “right” seemed to always have some drama and angst about all thing Clinton. I prefer to stick to the facts. My personal opinion about MOST of the representatives of the “left” is that they are impotent idiots. My personal opinion about Trump is that he is narcissistic and malevolent liar. And this opinion is supported by his tweets and his actions.

I was answering a question on how the business deal could be done ethically.

The real corruption is when friends and family win no-bid govt contracts

Then why continue with your attempt to re-educate me? I believe something different than you regarding Trump. I base my belief on what he has done during his administration rather than his tweets, which are just that comments made on a social media platform. Trump very well may be a narcissist but no more than other presidents before him. Obama was quite the narcissist also. However I do disagree with the “malevolent liar” part.

If one does not take the whole of this administration into account when passing judgement on Trump, how could one have an accurate idea of what has really gone on in the last 2 1/2 years. We have the lowest unemployment rates in my lifetime, and in some area, the lowest ever. Crippling regulations are being done away with. There is progress on the border. There is a relationship with N. Korea and with China. Our military is in recovery mode after Obama’s attempt to dismantle it. I for one am taking home more money on my paycheck.

Yes Trump will say stupid things at times but he is not doing stupid things.

PS I do agree with you on the left politicians being impotent idiots. I’ll never understand how a thinking person could support any one of those running for president.

Fact: President Trump Twitter feed
Opinion: this is what trump really said.

Opinion examples:
  1. He attacks women of color.
  2. He is being sarcastic.
We all argue about opinions of each other and opinions are not facts.

He is doing very stupid things. The economy might be in good shape, temporarily - due to the misbegotten taxation policy - which leads to higher debt and it will place the next generation into jeopardy. Getting rid of certain regulations leads directly to economical and environmental disasters. Creating a “space force” is really unnecessary and wasteful spending. The military should be consolidated, not expanded. The relationship with bloody dictators weakens our reputation. Putin receives a clear signal to keep on undermining our elections.

“Moscow Mitch” runs the Senate for Trump. Mitch declared that he will not allow any legislation to reach the floor, if Trump does not pre-approve it. What is the point of having the Senate?

He overrode the experts and established his family into positions which they are clearly not qualified for. His only criterion is “personal loyalty” and not competence. Reagan was not the sharpest blade around the block, but he surrounded himself with good advisors and followed their ideas. And he was a pretty good president.

Trump believes that he is better and smarter than everyone, his own selected cabinet members included, and does not accept any criticism from anyone. His economic prowess is clearly reflected by the fact that even his casinos (!) ran into bankruptcy. He tries to run the country as his personal fiefdom. He attempts to run around the constitution. His only admirers are dictators.
I for one am taking home more money on my paycheck.
Good for you. The soy bean farmers do not. Due to his trade war policy. Hopefully they will wake up before the election.

Since they are getting welfare to make up for the losses, I doubt it.
Yes, there is that. Of course the welfare will come out from other people’s pockets. 😉 But there are many farmers who resent the “handout” and would prefer to earn their own income. So there is still hope.

The farms en-masse support the end goal of opening foreign markets to their product. They may vary in their grumbling on the short term pain of retaliatory tariffs, but they support the direction Trump is going.

The method being used is the problem.

It may be a problem for you, but the Dem candidates came up with nothing better.

They repeatedly said “we need to talk to China”, well both the Bush and Obama admins spent significant effort ‘talking’ to China over a couple decades. It’s a naive strategy and obviously doesn’t get results.

Tariffs are now the appropriate negotiation tool to use with China, in conjunction with talks (when they are willing/ready).

Since you consider the dems to be drooling idiots
I think they are pandering, but I don’t think they are idiots.

They haven’t proposed anything better than talking, because there really are no options outside of tariffs as a sanction/stick. We’ve talked for decades, now it’s time for the stick.

If all you can offer is criticism without an alternative, you are being very shallow and partisan in your discussion.

When Bush I and Bush II were in office, they put their holdings within a blind trust that they did not control. Thus, if they made any money it was not due to actively seeking investments from foreign governments nor the US Government.

Trump is still in active control of his businesses and that is where to problems come in. He should have done what Bush I and Bush II did, then there would be no controversy on this issue!

I can’t help but think that

“Emoluments” clause is a witchcraft idea, or something from Harry Potter’s. Lol
