As a consequence for the fall, women have to have pain in childbirth and men have to toil in the fields, so see childbirth is only as hard as a good day farming.😃
Since I am a stay at home dad and my wife is a plant scientist. We often joke that I got the best deal ever. She has childbirth AND toils in the field. šŸ˜‰

Hi Silent Factor 80, in answer to your query: protecting Thy children all the way through, in particular as teenagers despite work lay-offs, despite changes in one’s life, separations, depression, illness, a new partner or wife, just as most Mothers do!

and…for the record, I would always die or take a bullet for all of my loved ones including any new Husband whom I loved, particularly if he has children to be around for in the future to raise (mine are raised)!

I don’t know this woman who marry the callous fellow, but sometimes people don’t show their true nature until later.

I also want to note that this video was from a Dutch program, The two ā€œlaboringā€ fellows do stunts for shock value. Their show is called ā€œGuinea Pigsā€. I think the video is meant to be shocking. I don’t think it was meant to endorse a product of sorts, or to say men should do this.

One of the guys says he wanted to do this because he understands that giving birth is the worst pain there is.

I’m actually not sure it is…I had 3 labors without pain killers.

I also had an impacted wisdom tooth removed. I had a nice shot of Novocaine, and felt great. So I disregarded the doctor’s suggestion to take the pain killers before the Novocaine wore off. That was the worst pain ever. So bad I fainted.

huffingtonpost.com/2013/01/17/men-simulate-contractions-guinea-pigs-dutch-tv-show_n_2498088.html
Quoting myself. šŸ™‚

It was a stunt done for shock value on Dutch TV. I believe that the 2 did it on their own initiative, and were not pressured into it in order to feel empathy by any woman.

Even if the machine were able to replicate contractions, I doubt they would feel the same. Men don’t have a uterus.

It was just a stunt.

Perhaps I could see the outrage if it were a product marketed at Dads called the ā€œLabor Experience, now you too can feel the miracle of birth, order in the next 15 minutes and get a free Shamwowā€

When I was expecting my first child, DH and i took a childbirth class. We were all first time moms, so none of us had given birth. The instructor asked if anyone could guess what a contraction felt like. A few women answered that they thought that it would feel like strong menstrual cramps. Do you know who gave the most accurate desription…my DH. And when the time came, I thought wow, he was pretty much on target!

Fatherhood is a purely spiritual experience. At no time does a man physically carry the kid inside yet any man who is true father still feels a powerful bond with his kids as well as his pregnant wife. Seeing a woman pregnant has a huge affect on the male brain (drlauraberman.com/sexual-health/pregnancy/pregnancy-affects-fathers). That power of that bond can only be rooted in the spiritual side of men. Also, men will die for their woman without thinking twice (huffingtonpost.com/2012/07/23/aurora-shooting-boyfriends-died-protecting-girlfriends_n_1695290.html). Women rarely ever offer to take a bullet for their man. I think guys understand the mystery of life quite well and don’t need a physical pregnancy to understand it. Can you elaborate on those responsibilities you think God gives men?
Love and sacrifice does not go by gender. Women too will die for their loved ones.

Oh yes? "…not as bad as female circumcision… "eh? Hmmmmmm… just whom is really insisting on being a victim here eh? šŸ˜‰
For future reference, ā€œwhomā€ is the objective use of ā€œwho,ā€ so you should have used ā€œwhoā€ since it is the subject of ā€œis.ā€
As a female, can you speak to the pain a male feels at circumcision?
As a male, I can. I cannot remember a moment of it, so the pain may as well be zero.
The baby does not remember it, you say - eh? **If **true (If there are ā€˜Drain Pipe Dreams’ resulting from Birth Process Trauma as Freud indicated
Freud is not a legitimate scholar; most of his theories have been completely debunked.
then can you really and truthfully declare so empahtically in such an ad hominen manner, that it is not remembered?
There was no ad hominem, so I do not know why you mentioned that. Do you know what it means? The point was supported with no reference to you.
No. You can not.) might the dynamic of circumcison trauma be even *more *insidious and detrimental if it resides in the subconscious?
Yeah, but it does not reside there, so your point is irrelevant.

You also ignore the glaring facts that ā€œa circumcised man can still feel sexual pleasure and experience an orgasm… Female circumcision is done on teens in filthy environments without any painkiller. Infection and death are not uncommon.ā€
Hello? You are aware circumcision of males occurs third world countries of, for example Islam as well - yes? Like in India?
Male circumcision is also practiced in First-World countries. Female circumcision is practiced exclusively in Third-World countries, and is still less sanitary and clandestine than male circumcision in those environments.

One responsibility God gave men as fathers is to pass on the faith. I read studies that show that men actually have a greater effect on the faith of their children. A religious father is more likely to have religious children than a religious mother. The ideal of course would be two religious parents. An atheist father and religious mother would likely have atheists children.

Another one, a father is supposed to model the love of God, since God is often referred to as the Father. A lot of women who have trouble with the concept of God the Father had fathers who were not there or were abusive.
I disagree. There is no fixed rule. Two religious parents could have a child who becomes an atheist, the children remain religious because of their mother, not their ultra strict religious father. Seen those two sets of circumstances.

God the Father as in the Trinity. However, God is a spirit and has no gender. I do not see how you came to such a conclusion about women and their fathers.

The Scriptures hath Spoken! Well done. It** is** just as clear as this.šŸ™‚

Secularists and radical Feminists that want to muck this up would be better served to
listen to itt rather than change it.
Read what Blessed JPII had to say about this. I am sure he did not muck this up.

Nimzovik Responds in Bold

Silly me!
I always fing it amusing and revealing** when the opposition attacks my posting/english techniques rather than the actual content. I am surprised you did not add ā€˜neener neeener neener’ šŸ˜‰

As a male, I can. I cannot remember a moment of it, so the pain may as well be zero.

Is your experience Universal? See here: youtube.com/watch?v=T30DGBTUCWM

Freud is not a legitimate scholar; most of his theories have been completely debunked.

Good Heavens. The theories of ā€˜The Father of Modern Psychiatry’ are just totally pointless - eh? Because you say so eh?šŸ˜‰ Methinks many would at least debate such - yes?

There was no ad hominem, so I do not know why you mentioned that. Do you know what it means? The point was supported with no reference to you.

**Actually - yes- there was indeed ad hominen. The poster that I responded to called down the 'Angels of contemporary thinking" to rebute my assertions so to speak. The assertions were not buttressed by objective thinking with attending statistics. **

Yeah, but it does not reside there, so your point is irrelevant.

**Oh yes? Because *you ***say so? Prove it. You can not. Ergo your point is - how did you put it? Irrelevant. See above link.

You also ignore the glaring facts that ā€œa circumcised man can still feel sexual pleasure and experience an orgasm… Female circumcision is done on teens in filthy environments without any painkiller. Infection and death are not uncommon.ā€

**Au contraire again. I did indeed address the issue of infection. As for the pleasure factor, I simply assert that is not the *defining ***characteristic of the issue. Sheeesh. However, regarding the pleasure issues I once again refer you to the above link.

Male circumcision is also practiced in First-World countries. Female circumcision is practiced exclusively in Third-World countries, and is still less sanitary and clandestine than male circumcision in those environments.
Underlining mine. Ok. lets look closely at just what is wrong with this statement. 1) If Female circumcison is practiced exclusively , as you say in third World countries then I would believe it logically follows that Female circumcision is less practiced than male Circumcison as male circumcision is practiced in third world countries and rampantly in the western world as well… yes? Not that majority of the crime of circumcison lesssens the atrocity of it all… Who ( whom?šŸ˜‰ ) or which sex suffers more frequently is just moot as for as far s I am concerned.

**2) The sanitary issue does indded occur to men as well. This what I am saying. **

**I do indeed assert that the Female corresponding issue of Genital Mutilation is heinous. That does not take away from the Male issue. I reiterate. Presenting Male issues does not equate automatically to devaluing Female issues. Shheeeeesh:shrug: **

Thank you for this oppurtunity to raise the Social Consciousness of these Male also issues. **

Enough of the sidebar. Shall we return to the topic?

Bolding mine.

Oh yes? You think JPII would side with Radical (the term I used in my post) Feminists eh? Heh heh heh…

I really enjoy these rants of yours. The last time we argued you told me that the speaker of the house and the senate majority leader were women. Now you are saying that Freud is a legitimate source. This only makes you and your points look bad.

Oh yes? When one posts a perspective that differs from your opinion, you call it a *rant *eh?

Yes, I suppose it is nescessary for you to endeavor to devalue Frueds contributions to modern Psychoanalysis.

See here: crystalinks.com/freud.html

Methinks Freud has published far more respectable papers dealing with the human psyche than… you have… šŸ˜‰

Nuff said.

Now can we get back to the… ahem…topic?

Nimzovik, I have to agree with BEL, sure, some people still look on Freud as a legitimate authority, but you can find people who truly think that Aliens built the pyramids. His reseatch has been discredited. 🤷

But, since you’ve asked so nicely to go back to the topic I believe I will.

Honestly, I think the tone of the video is definitely a little anti-male, but its not really that big of a deal, as others have said its just a stupid stunt pulled for tv ratings. I’m ssure people could start pulling all sorts of examples that are disrespectful to both women and men from tv if they wanted to, but as others have said, we two gender need to stop fighting with each other to see who is most disrespected and instead work on caring just as much about the opposite gender as our own.

I think that the funniest part of all of this is that your link explains his theories and honors his legacy…while making clear that most of his theories have been proven false and cast aside. He, like all pioneers of specific fields inspired others, looked at things in a new way, and formed the beginnings of a whole new way of study. But just like early astronomers were wrong about the earth’s position in the galaxy, Freud was wrong about a lot of his claims too. That’s just the nature of of being a founder.

And dare I say a lot of people throughout history have published well respected papers that were wrong?

And yes, most of what you do is rant about your victim status.

I think that this thing is overblown because if there was a way to simulate the feeling of being kicked in the groin for women, it would be done as a publicity stunt as well.

My first time around in college I graduated with a psych degree. After intro and abnormal psych, Freud was not talked about. And even in those two courses he was only discussed in a historical sense.

Freud isn’t completely disregarded. Psychologists still accept some of his ideas, but a lot of what he said is rejected. many psychologists would be considered Freudian.

Only in method. The stream of conciousness, sit back on the couch and let it out for analysis is one thing. But no one is concerned about the stages of psychosexual development, Oedipus complexes, and the fear that little boys have of being castrated like women are.

His defense mechanisms aren’t rejected though. And as you pointed out, psychoanalysis is still used. Like I said, some things are rejected but others aren’t.
