He comes when He comes. And I will work for and wait with hopefullness for that glorious event.
He “comes” when people are ready to listen and will not be seen before then. “The master appears when the student is ready”.

So the real question is merely, “when will the world be ready?”

People only listen when they perceive that they are in need of answers. If they believe in themselves or in others, believing that the answers are already present but perhaps in others, they do not listen.

That means that the entire world has to prove to the obvious perception of all concerned that it does not have the needed answers. Such a state can only occur in the midst of very serious and seemingly inescapable demise - “something seriously bad is upon us and cannot be stopped”.

Thus look merely for such an event. What in the very near future will cause all men to fear that they are doomed? Such an analysis requires an accurate “world view” of current critical events. Even I could point out some of these events so it is certainly not impossible to make such a prediction. The exact timing is another issue in that one must see so much so very clearly that he can know that nothing exists to prevent the tragedy.

At that point, when the tragedy is clear, someone will finally listen. It won’t take many and the “miracle” will spread quickly “from the clouds” of confusion.

The “savior” is already here merely awaiting a yearning heart and open ear. He and always has been, merely awaiting the moment to remove all sin. But who is really listening - and to whom?

If the end is predicted for day X, we can be sure of being around on day X+1 🙂

Most certainly fore it is only when all hope is seemingly lost that the hope in listening begins. 😃

I am watching a program right now about this topic, “2012:Startling New Secrets”. Something most definitely is going to happen on that date, although I doubt it will be the return of Christ. Too many cultures point to that day (some even give an hour) to ignore. Anyone who can’t even entertain the idea that something will happen, is just too ignorant to read up on it.
One culture ‘points’ to it- others simply have certain elements that someone seeking to further an idea can use to his advantage.

You’re absolutely right. That date will not be utterly bereft of events.

There’s a website linked from Pharyngula that confidently stated that the rapture would occur on 21st September. By 3rd October they were claiming that they’d got their calcs a bit wrong, and it would be happening 21st October instead.

And here we all still are.

Let’s get one thing straight: There is ZERO evidence that the “end of the world,” whenever it comes and whatever interpretation of the phrase you might have, will have any religious manifestation whatsoever. Sure, we might all be wiped out by a massive meteor or some other cataclysmic event, but it will be a scientifically explainable event and in all likelihood, we’ll have weeks, months, even years to understand the cause and process of our extinction.

Update: It’s all over on Wednesday. Pack your bags. scienceblogs.com/pharyngula/2009/11/the_world_is_ending_again.php

The end of the World will be when each and all of us all die. Period.

Would I be splitting hairs if I thought that I heard that the correct date was Dec.25th? 😃 Wouldn’t that be a great Christmas gift??😉

We will see the end times when, in the Father’s will, either we die or Jesus comes again. How’s that for a prediction??👍
I just watched a video by a christian woman who proves that Jesus was conceived on December 25th, and born in late september, near rosh ha shanna. Jewish new year is supposed to be a good time for the messiahs birth.

She was able to point to the story of Elizabeth in Luke who became pregnant in June. The text states clearly that Mary conceived six months later.

Someone went down and talked to the Mayan elders, they say that December 21, 2012 will be just an ordiary day. It will not be the end of the world.

They do believe that the date is a turning point, and marks he beginning of a new age on earth.

I already have plans for December 21, 2012. I’m going to poor me a cup of coffee, (and in my pajamas,) sit in the front yard and watch everyone run around and hide under rocks.

I wonder if instead of the Messiah it will be a false messiah – i.e. the antichrist? hmmmmm

I’m not too worried about it at this point and I hope God grants me enough faith not to ever get worried about it. The battle has already been won – we have nothing to fear as long as we believe and follow His commandments.

God alone knows the day and hour of Jesus’ return. It is not granted to man to know this (Matthew 24:36, Mark 13:32). There is, however, one other source of information in the universe. The liar and father of lies. That would explain the identical dates coming form various cultures and societies.

The Mayan calendar is not the only calendar ending in 2012 there are about three pagan calendars all ending in 2012 like the long count.

To me all that means is that all pagan influence should end with the end of the pagan days the days not belonging as it were to God. We have many understandings about the end of the world and the second coming of Christ.

The Bible says that not even the Son of man knew the hour but of course that is not correct it is impossible for the Father to know something that the Son does not know they are each God by nature all knowing. That was basically Jesus letting us know it was none of our business. He could be speak on behalf of His human nature only but it is impossible for God the Son to not know the plan of God since He is God. Jesus after all is the life of the Blessed Trinity. I and the Father are one. If youve seen Me youve seen the Father.

We have prophecies from approved Catholic saints that state that the next pope will be the last pope. He is designated as Peter the Roman. He will probably be an Italian Pope. But like all the other popes the next pope will fit the prophecy about Him and during his reign Jesus will come again. Perhaps many of us will have already gone to eternity but for our children many could be here to see what we have all waited for for two thousand years. Then comes the ascention of the Church. It helps to think of the Church the Mystical Body of Christ as having lived out in a mystical way the entire life of Christ over the last two thousand years. The church has been scourged, crucified and died in our sight over the last 15-20 years. It has ressurected and light is coming back into the world as it has left the tomb. Now come the forty days of teaching and preparation for the ascention. This pope the second last pope will restore the church as it has been predicted by a number of saints. He will restore the church to its former glory. He will chain the church to the pillars that rise up from the ocean one the Blessed Sacrament the other Our Blessed Mother. These are the two great strengths that keep us from capsizing in a sea of disbelief. At the second coming of Christ He will judge the living and the dead. He said of these days,“When I return will I even find faith?”
