I have a few Muslim friends from SA who have been fasting for Ramadan. I just got an invitation to the party they are throwing when it’s over, advertising lots of free alcohol and saying, “Ramadan is over and we can drink again!!”

I thought Muslims weren’t allowed to drink any time of the year, not just during Ramadan. I couldn’t help but contrast this with the Christian season of Lent, which is a time of penance and reflection…we usually try to think how we can do better and overcome ours sins the rest of the year. For the Muslims I know, Ramadan is like a temporary break from sinning, but they’re already planning on going back to their old sinful ways as soon as it’s over–so much that they’re actually having a party to celebrate the fact that they can sin again!

I like these guys a lot but I feel sorry that they belong to such a twisted, legalistic, and inconsistent religion like Islam.

What do you guys (Muslims and Christians both) think about this?

What is the purpose of this topic ???

A similar topic would be :

"I thought christians aren’t allowed to fornicate but I saw some of them doing it "

I’ve never heard of a Christian giving up fornication for Lent and then celebrating come Easter when they can “fornicate again.” This seems very common for Muslims though.

Very common for Muslims ??? how did you find out ??

Why didn’t you ask these muslims about this party ??? see if you can get the “Islam” involved in it …

I don’t understand the purpose of this topic, you already knew that they are sinners and against the teaching of Islam ,

Why do you assume that every Muslim is a sinless angel !!

**Hello,

Totally in agreement with Nicolas!

First of all, to even involve PRACTICING MUSLIMS to these types of “so called” NON PRACTICING Muslims is an insult in the highest regard.

You know Islam prohibits alcohol. So why ask? You think all Muslims are the same? You think all Christians are “Heavenly Angels” Get real! Sheesh!

You say twisted religion, but yet, it isn’t the religion that is twisted it is! Islam prohibits drinkin and it is a major sin which in Islam, every major sin has a major punishment. You bring examples of men who are DISOBEYING THE RELIGION OF GOD and you blame the religion!! It seems like the only one that is twisted is your problem of nouns, verbs and adjectives.

They are practicing Muslims…they are observing Ramadan and they pray five times per day, and read the Quran…they also abstain from pork (I guess eating a harmless food is worse than getting drunk). Non-practicing Christians hardly even step foot in a Church more than once a year, much less observe Lent or pray–in other words, they don’t try to keep up the pretense that they are truly Christians. Islam is all about hypocrisy; is it true that Muslim men in foreign countries are allowed to fornicate with non-Muslim women (as long as the women are not Muslim themselves)?

P.S. AmericanRevert, I’m putting you on “ignore”. I’m tired of trying to trudge through your obnoxious posts; the constant shift of colors, font size, and overuse of italics/bold/underline, couples with the poor grammar, gives me migraine headaches!

God says to follow His Message and His sunnah. He said to follow the examples of Mohammad sallaAllahu 'alyhi wa sellem (prayers and peace be upon him). They are not. Islam is not all about hypocrisy. Actually in Islam, it says that the hypocrites are in the lowest part of Hellfire!

Omg, no it isn’t true!~ It is wrong and the punishment for fornication is 80 lashes!!! Those who say it is ok, are ignorant of their own religion!

My posts are not obnoxious. It is just that you can’t stand hearing a bit of truth to your insinuations and insults!! ** You judge others without the hint of sincerity and with degradation. As you may know, I stopped using color, just one main color and bold it, if I use another color it is only for purposes of highlighting what I think is important. If you can’t handle honesty, then leave the forum and stop judging others by your stupidity and meanness.

A false religion, a worshiping which is not coming from the soul but from the flesh, and when the flesh becomes hungry for the sin it doesn’t matter with him the faith law, but the true religion is from the soul:

(John 4:23):
Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.

hmmm so all the Christians that sin and commit major sins are what in a false religion?

Hello americanrevert,

Please next time use the quote with the poster name so that it will be easy to spot, however here is the best reply from my brother Angelos:

You are somehow closing your nice eyes to the fact that some Christians allegedly do terrible things DESPITE what the New Testament teaches them whereas Muslims actually do terrible things BECAUSE of what their Koran teaches them.

Why are you still fasting Ramadan in that “pagan/false” religion…or have you changed your mind recently ??
Since my flesh is still a Muslim, I’m still fasting with my Muslim family,"

Mohammad (sws) wasn’t a pagan…He believed in the God of the Universe, the Creator of you and me.

As indicated in my profile, I’m in a transition stage :whacky:, my soul is Christian:heart:, but my flesh is still a Muslim:(.

How would Sam777 explain to his family and fellow Muslims why he isn’t fasting, if he didn’t fast? He lives in Saudi Arabia…don’t you know what the punishment there is for “apostasy” (converting from Islam to another religion), Nicolas??
