With all the things that are going on in this world does anyone really beleive that it’ll only be around for maybe 100 yrs or so. Maybe even less than that.
Now, don’t go all “end-o’-the-worldy” on us…!With all the things that are going on in this world does anyone really beleive that it’ll only be around for maybe 100 yrs or so. Maybe even less than that.
i ia oe. Aloha nui.so what? I’ll be dead by then. It makes not one bit of difference when the world ends, what does matters is the state of my soul so that I may be ready to die in a state of grace whenever and however God chooses to claim my life back. With all the things that are going on in this world does anyone really beleive that it’ll only be around for maybe 100 yrs or so. I agree with Keikiolu. That’s probably a sign of the end times right there :bigyikes:Now, don’t go all “end-o’-the-worldy” on us…!![]()

The end of the world to me is the Return of Christ - The Second Coming. Even St. Paul at one point forecasted this was immanent and later on changed that - and so has every generation since (thought the world was in such a dreadful state it meant the end of the world). We still wait and as it says in The Mass: “as we wait in joyful hope for the coming of our Saviour, Jesus Christ”. Jesus Himself said that even He did not know the date of His Return and that it was only known by The Father. Live in Joyful, Grateful Peace…and leave all administrative details to The FatherWith all the things that are going on in this world does anyone really beleive that it’ll only be around for maybe 100 yrs or so. Thats what my Priest said Sunday in his homily, if it meant to stop the 4,000+ abortions a day that are “offered to the demon moloch”. He said even if he himself wasn’t ready for heaven. Earlier in the week, someone pulled a knife on him while robbing the poor box in the church. Our Priest was armed with a handgun and “persuaded” him to stop the attack result in the thief’s arrest. What a world we live inWell, I personally hope and pray something happens. Either the “end of the world” or something to purify the earth and this horrible Godless culture we all live in. However, I prefer the first option.![]()
Priests in my country have been advised to remove their ‘dog’ collar so that they are not identifiable whilst in public and reduce the risk of being attacked. There are staggering numbers of Priests being attacked in my country. One Priest was stabbed 17 times and thank God survived this attack.Thats what my Priest said Sunday in his homily, if it meant to stop the 4,000+ abortions a day that are “offered to the demon moloch”. I am horrified to read that. I just don’t get it. We live in a small peaceful area. The church doors are always open. If we cannot see the grave direction humanity is choosing for itself by ‘self’ and poor stewardship then we are walking around blind to it. Yes there are good people and good things in the world, but it is sorely increasing in evil.
I can only say prepare yourself for any event. If we continue along perilous paths we will reap perilous times and whether we desire it or not will bring about our own suffering, penance and chastisement.
In the Living Prayer of my life
Our Church doors are locked. We either have to make an appointment to access the Church for about an hour or we have to simply go early before Mass when the doors are opened a half hour before Mass or stay a little longer after Mass to spend precious minutes with Jesus before the Blessed Sacrament. That is why I decided to send my Guardian Angel on long all night vigils before the Blessed Sacrament on my behalf to pray there and love and adore Jesus for me because I cannot get this access to Jesus in His Real Presence. I go to Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament often in spirit and ask Him to come to my soul spiritually everyday.I am horrified to read that. I just don’t get it. We live in a small peaceful area. The church doors are always open. Our Priest has some street smarts (from Philly) and decided to bring a weapon with him to check out what was going on. This may have saved his life. The cops kidded him, calling him the “pistol packing Priest” but the whole thing caught the parish off guard. Our Priest is always warning us that these are “strange times”. I like to think the Lord’s mercy is more then we can imagine, so for the sake of the elect the world will continue, but we also know what happens for the sake of the elect. Tim
Thomas de Celano (around 1190-1260), wJohn 15 - 9 to 11:As the Father loves me, so I also love you. Remain in my love. If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and your joy may be complete.
That is why he himself always tried to keep his heart joyful, to preserve that oil of gladness with which his soul had been anointed (Ps 45:7). He took great care to avoid sorrow, the worst of illnesses, and when he felt that it was beginning to infiltrate his soul, he immediately had recourse to prayer. He said: “At the first sign of trouble, the servant of God must get up, begin to pray, and remain before the Father until the latter has caused him or her to retrieve the joy of the person who is saved.” (Ps 51:12)…Saint Francis maintained: “My best defense against all the plots and tricks of the enemy is still the spirit of joy. The devil is never so happy as when he has succeeded in robbing one of God’s servants of the joy in his or her soul. The devil always has some dust on hold that he blows into someone’s conscience through a small basement window so as to make opaque what is pure. But in a heart that is filled with joy, he tries in vain to introduce his deadly poison. The demons can do nothing against a servant of Christ whom they find filled with holy gladness; whereas a dejected, morose and depressed soul easily lets itself be submerged in sorrow or captured by false pleasures.”

Hence, if the universe be considered as a whole it will be found that that which for the individual is evil will in the end turn out to be consistent with Divine goodness, in conformity with justice and right order (Origen, “Contra Celsum”, IV, xcix in “P.G.”, XI, 1177-80; St. Augustine, “De ordine”, I, i-v, 9; II, iv in “P.L.”, XXXII, 977-87, 990, 999-1002).**Evil, therefore, **
