That’s nice to know. Protocol! Tit for Tat, see if an Ayatollah will kiss our Bible.
Sorry God. I’m sure, I wasn’t Holy in that thought.
Create in me a clean heart, Oh Lord.
In Christ’s love

Isn’t Petrus Romanus given a negative description?
“Petrus Romanus, qui pascet oves …” translates as “Peter of Rome, who will feed his sheep.” That does not seem to be a negative description. But it does seem to be a reference to John 21:17 where Jesus instructs St. Peter to “feed my sheep.” And that is why I think that “Petrus Romanus” refers to St. Peter. My conclusion is St. Peter will be resurrected to serve as our last Pope.
Allen and Skye* mention an ancient prophecy which says that the last Pope will be from a Jewish family.

I have a hard time making a large scale supernatural event line up with two things.

One, why would the Church seem like it disappeared, if such an event occurred? It seems like people would turn towards religion, not away from it, if such an event occurred. And some would turn towards the Church, especially if there is well documented prophecy about such an event.

And two, Christ warns that his coming will be like a thief in the night. I don’t think that means we should not be looking at the “signs of the times”, but if they are too explicit, then there is no thief.

Remember, this will be very close to the end. It’s at the end of a Chastisement, a period of great persecution for the Church. It won’t be like now, where there are people who think they can “be good people” and call themselves Christian, because calling yourself Christian will result in jail or worse. So information about this will only be circulated among the Faithful Remnant.

Once it has begun, it will be too late for people to turn towards the Church. For one thing, it will be so dark, you won’t be able to see your hand in front of your face. You will be like the blind, feeling their way to a church you were scorning the day before. Plus, anyone caught outside will be fair game for demons to rend and destroy.

Second, the “Three Days” are NOT the return of Jesus. Think of it as a time for the chastisers to be chastised themselves. When the light returns, there will only be the Faithful Remnant in a world that has been restored to balance.
No longer shall there be in it
an infant who lives but a few days,
nor anyone who does not live a full lifetime;
One who dies at a hundred years shall be considered a youth,
and one who falls short of a hundred shall be thought accursed.
Isaiah 65:20
Jesus will return at the end of the Major Chastisement, when the Evil One is released from the pit for a brief period.

Jesus’ return is through global nuclear war. (Luke 12:49–I have come to bring a fire to the earth and how I wish it were blazing already!) Most of us are in denial of the obvious inevitability of this disaster, but, even if some do see it coming, they don’t understand it as His return.

You interpret this to mean that Our Lord can’t wait to have the whole world incinerated in a nuclear holucaust ? My Bible footnote says - ’ The image of fire refers to the purifying and cleansing power which the gospel, through the grace of the Holy Spirit , will exercise upon mankind. But this power is effective only through Jesus’ Passion and Death

My interpretation of Luke 12:49 differs from what you will find in the CCC, and is based on Isaiah 66:15-16.

For see how YHWH comes in fire,
His Chariots like the tempest,
To assuage His anger with burning,
His threats with flaming fire.

For by fire will YHWH execute judgment,
and by His sword against all mankind.
The victims of YHWH will be many.

Jesus and YHWH are one and cannot be separated. Am I saying that the second coming of our Lord is in a nuclear holocaust? Yes, I am.

Jeremiah 25:32-33

See! The disaster spreads from nation to nation,
a mighty tempest rises from the far ends of the earth.

Those slaughtered by YHWH that day will be scattered across the world from end to end. No dirge will be played for them; no one will gather them or bury them. They will stay lying on the surface like dung.

These lines are the ancient description of the coming global nuclear war. And because of YHWH’s promise in Genesis 8:21, there can be no other explanation for this predicted world-wide disaster.

This is a general promise that God would defend his Church , and destroy his foes. It is a promise of a general nature that God , in those future times , would destroy his foes, and would, thus extend protection to his people. It may be applied to the destruction of Jerusalem, to any mighty overthrow of his enemies, or to the day of judgement . The single truth is that all his enemies would be destroyed , as if Yahweh should come amidst flames of fire. That truth is enough for his church to know , that truth should be sufficient to fill a wicked world with alarm.

I think the fire Jesus is teaching about comes from His redemptive suffering on the cross. It will both destroy and purge. It is a fire that reigns down from heaven. It’s power to burn is the power of judgement. It’s first manifestations are chastisements of conscience. If it extends to the senses temporarily it’s warning of finality to come. If final it extends permanently to the senses .The fire is spiritual not material IMO

In every picture I’ve seen of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, it’s on fire. There’s a reason He’s portrayed that way. I’m pretty sure the fire of His love is what will cleanse the world of sin. 🔥💓🔥

Thanks for these thoughts. While I do appreciate them, I must observe that they do not explain how the dead can be scattered across the whole world with no one left to bury them. (Jeremiah 25:33)

The Sacred Heart is depicted on fire because that is the image that Jesus presented to Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque, to represent how He burns with the fire of love for sinners.

On the topic of St. Malachys Prophecy . Re ’ Peter the Roman ’ (Pope Francis )
It was striking that in his initial appearances, he repeatedly referred to himself as the ’ Bishop of Rome ’ rather than emphasising his role as an authority figure in the universal Church. He was the first claimant to sign himself in Italian rather than latin as all other before him have. Italian is the language of modern Romans, which Pope Francis speaks perfectly, wheras latin is the language of the church throughout the world.
Francis’ emphasis on a particular local or Roman role instead of a universal one.
Caroline Pigozzi question to him - " Are you travelling as Peter’s successor, as the Bishop of Rome or as the Archbishop of Buenos Aires ? Answer " I am concerned about Europe at this time; its good to help me move forward, and to do so as the Bishop of Rome and Peter’s successor : there - I’m a Roman.
Saint Francis middle name and his father’s name was Peter.
Pope Francis cares very much about feeding people in need.Francis’ motto is about feeding people. He has declared the Sistine Chapel to be the property of the homeless
Francis has been described as the end of the world Pope because Argentina, where he is from is geographically at the end of the world. After his election Francis said - the other cardinals
went all the way to the end of the world to find him, and then added "here we are " ✈️

We have two versions of the Prophecy of the Popes. The first was published by Fr. Arnold Wion in 1595 in the LIGNUM VITAE, a history of the Benedictine Order. The second and commonly used version was published by Fr. Thomas Messingham in FLORILEGIUM INSULAE SANCTORUM, 1624.
Which version is the correct one? It does make a difference now, because Messingham’s version has only 112 papal mottoes, and it casts Pope Francis as Petrus Romanus. As I mentioned, every single analyst has used this version.

In 1880 Fr. M.J. O’Brien published a critique of the mottoes; AN HISTORICAL AND CRITICAL ACCOUNT OF THE SO-CALLED PROPHECY OF ST. MALACHY. He found that the mottoes prior to 1557 depended entirely on a history of the popes that was published by Panvinius. Where ever Panvinius made a mistake in the order of the popes, so did the mottoes. Where Panvinius was able to cite a papal coat of arms, the relevant motto referred to that. Fr. O’Brien’s correct conclusion was that the prophecy of the popes could not have been composed prior to 1557 and that St Malachy had absolutely nothing to do with it.

Fr. O’Brien’s research indicates that Fr. Wion was the author of the mottoes. It was he who claimed to have “discovered” the list in the Vatican archives. It was he who noised them about the Vatican prior to the 1590 papal election (for a known political motive), and it was he who first published them. I prefer to use Wion’s original version of 113 papal mottoes since that gives us an understandable and possibly true motto for Pope Francis. That motto is:

In psecutione. extrema S.R.E. sedebit. —(He will reign in the final persection. of the Holy Roman Church.)

This is an ominous phase and may tie in with the terrible visions of Pope St. Pius X. It remains to be seen if it will come to pass. Let’s hope that it does not.

Quite interesting, I would not have expected the Pope to talk about that.

So often we talk too much about and get caught up in signs of End Times and neglect being spiritually prepared for the real thing!
If you have a chance, watch the movie Silence. Bishop Barron on “Silence” - Word on Fire Rodgriques, Garupe and Ferreira…observe them carefully. Increased inquity does make the heart grow cold.

"Above all, I urge the members of the Church to take up the Lenten journey with enthusiasm, sustained by almsgiving, fasting and prayer. If, at times, the flame of charity seems to die in our own hearts, know that this is never the case in the heart of God! He constantly gives us a chance to begin loving anew.

One such moment of grace will be, again this year, the “24 Hours for the Lord” initiative, which invites the entire Church community to celebrate the sacrament of Reconciliation in the context of Eucharistic adoration. In 2018, inspired by the words of Psalm 130:4, “With you is forgiveness”, this will take place from Friday, 9 March to Saturday, 10 March. In each diocese, at least one church will remain open for twenty-four consecutive hours, offering an opportunity for both Eucharistic adoration and sacramental confession."
