Interesting news here:

Israel Gets Ready to Fight a Multifront War

Everything in this article, listing the possible fronts as well as the participants, lines up with the prophesied War of Psalm 83.

Now, mind you, I’ve been researching and keeping an eye out for this war for the past 10 years. But that’s one thing I like about being a pessimist: Sooner or later, you’re right,

This asteroid stuff is really something but I have a good hunch that if any significant impact was suddenly imminent, the general public would not know. Scientists and star gazing enthusiasts might know. Surprise asteroids happen and are a continuous threat to earth.

‘Confusion and error’ from Catholic leaders may be sign of end times: Cardinal…

Disorientation and error have entered the Church ‘in a diabolical way’ from the shepherds to the sheep.
“Confusion, division, and error” within the Catholic Church coming from “shepherds” even at the highest levels indicate that we “may be” in the end times, said U.S. Cardinal Raymond Burke in an address in Kentucky.
YES… And he’s not the only Cardinal and/or Observer who has brought attention to that Sign (among some other necessary and Prophesied Signs as well.

ON this Note - Not just a few Israeli and other Jews have been very strongly speaking of their version of an imminence of their promised Messiah…

Which yes - varies in manners from e.g., most Christian beliefs on the Return of Messiah Jesus. .

All of Which in turn - adds additional interest to the overall discussion of the Signs of The Times…

Ladies and Gentlemen! We have a new date!

WILL THE POPE AND BISHOPS SAVE US FROM A COMING CHASTISEMENT?

This is actually quite a good essay by the spiritual director and chaplain for Mother Teresa of Calcutta’s Missionaries of Charity in Denver. You should read the entire piece, but to summarize, the end of the 100 years of Satan’s rule would have been on Oct. 13 2018; BUT … we recently had the Extraordinary Year of Mercy. This year cannot be considered as part of Satan’s 100 years, which pushes the end of the 100 years (101 years, actually – the same number of times the statue of Mary wept real tears in Akita, Japan) to Oct. 13, 2019. This falls on a Sunday and is smack in the middle of that Amazon Synod.

Now, this doesn’t mean that something catastrophic will happen on that date. But I believe that in the future, when historians look back, that date will be the date that is used to mark the beginning of the end.

Will the canonization of Blessed John Henry Cardinal Newman, which is to take place on that date, be delayed, or will his intercession save us from a coming chastisement?

Wow. Certainly a date to be mindful of?!
The article seemingly comes from a grounded cleric as opposed to much of the more aberrant opinions that we see in blogs…

It sure puts Cardinal Newman’s canonization to the forefront IMHO.

Thanks for posting!

No. Not by a long shot. At both Fatima and Akita Mary called for reparations and rosaries, NONE of which have been done by most of the laity, much less the Magisterium. I cannot remember if it was at Akita or at another alleged apparition (and I’m too lazy to look it up now) where the visionaries were told that the cup was overflowing, that it was too late to prevent a chastisement; that the best we could hope for was a postponement and a lessening of the severity.

Me? I’m going to see if it’s too late to get a mass offered in reparation on Oct. 12, or 11. Anyone else in?

I just finished reading Bishop Barron’s Letter to a Suffering Church.

The idea is to not lose hope when facing end times. :pray:t3:
Who can deny that deep and abiding corruption has invaded the Mystical Body of Christ? Who is so blind not to see that the pressing need of our time is a purification of the Church? And therefore, who can fail to appreciate that this is precisely the time for new orders, new movements, new works of the Spirit! Pg 96
The bottom line is this: if we want holier priests, we all have to become holier ourselves. Pg 92
Bringing ourselves to Mass …the best start possible. I recommend Bishop Barron’s Letter.

Once more, I’m putting on my guaranteed … custom made … hang on … < adjusts straps on the Prognosticon Helmet {patent pending} >

I foresee that Netanyahu will prepare for a war in Gaza, because a wise man, in time of peace, prepares for war. Keep in mind that even in Israel, it will be winter sooner rather than later. According to TimeandDate.com, the low temperature will go from an average of 73F in September to 58F in November (23C to 14C). While many military operations take place in winter, only a fool LAUNCHES a war in winter. Barring any provocations by the Palestinians, I don’t think he’ll consider starting any action before March or April of next year. And then, it will not be his launching attacks, but his acting defensively. If (When) Netanyahu wins the upcoming election, he’ll start swinging into action in preparation. More importantly, the Muslim nations surrounding Israel will start making preparations to attack Israel before they can become prepared.

This will be the War of Psalm 83, supported and orchestrated by Iran and carried out by Iranian troops and proxies (such as Hezb’allah and Hamas) in Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan. I predict it will last about 3 months and end with a clear Israeli victory. This time, because the war will clearly originate with coordinated attacks from the surrounding nations, there will be none of this nonsense of “occupied territory” – one of the oldest truths of international law is that when country A initiates hostilities with country B and winds up loosing territory to B, then the territory captured by country B BELONGS to country B. It’s only the punishment of loosing territory that acts to curtail hostile actions by one nation against another. After the 6-Day War Israel was hoping to be able to appease the Arab nations, which prevented Israel from outright claiming the West Bank. This time, I don’t think Netanyahu will be in any mood to appease, reason with, or placate the Arabs. “You started the war, you loose the territory.”

Advancements and technology in the 21st century make winter combat a walk in the park.

Yes, I get your point… definitely remaining watchful. 👀

Well, if your territory was “won” by a colonialist empire and later adapted for a foreign religion, I don’t think it would be much nonsense.

AAaaahhh … yeah … right … I’ll throw that statement at a couple of vets I know, and when they get done laughing I’ll let you know what they say …

Before that, though, I want to point out that Nazi Germany was FAR more technically advanced compared to the Soviet Union, yet it was the “backwardness” of the USSR that gave it the advantage over the Germans, especially over the winter months. The Nazi guns frequently jammed in the cold because the lubricant used would freeze. The Soviets simply started using gasoline (petrol) instead, because it worked and didn’t freeze in the cold temps.

There’s also attitude to consider. It’s a truism that the Arab states can continue to lose wars to Israel time and again, but Israel only has to lose a war once to face annihilation. In like fashion, during Napoleon’s invasion of Russia in 1812, the common tactic worldwide was for the invading army to live off the captured land, taking what they needed from the residents. Russia, however, perfected what was later known as “Scorched Earth”. The Russian peasants, rather than live under the invaders, fled towards the east with only what they could carry. Anything else – chickens, pigs, cows, grain – both stored and in the field – they burned. The peasants made sure there was absolutely nothing that the invading French could use to survive.

The fact remains that it costs a lot more to field an army during winter months, even in “relatively” mild winters such as are in the Middle East. If nothing else, you to have train your army how to fight AND survive in that weather. The Arab states have shown a consistent lack of regard for the well-being of the common soldiers, so they’re not going to spend the money to do that. Not when, by combining their forces, they can force the Israelis into the sea in just a few weeks.

(Which is what the Arabs living in the land designated by the UN peace plan were told by the invading Jordanian forces during the War of Independence in 1948-1949. “Leave your homes behind so we can fight without worrying about you, and we’ll have all your land and more returned to you when we finish driving the Jews into the sea.” The Israeli leaders, on the other hand, begged for the Arabs to remain so they could join in building a new nation. Thousands of Arab-speaking people left for Jordan and Syria; the ones who stayed behind were branded as traitors by the invaders, and 50 years later the ones who left are still living in “refugee camps.” What other nation has accepted refugees and after 3 generations STILL refuse to integrate them into their populations?)

Well, if your territory was “won” by a colonialist empire and later adapted for a foreign religion, I don’t think it would be much nonsense.
Colonialist empire”? “Adapted for a foreign religion”? Seriously?

That argument might hold if we were discussing Britain conquering India. But not here.

Starting in Numbers and continuing through Joshua, early Scripture talks about the land that G_D is giving the Jews. The Jews are to conquer all of the Canaanite tribes currently living there. Some they are to kill completely, even their children and livestock; some they are to kill only the men but the women they can take as wives, and some of the peoples they are to spare. This was done because the Canaanites had broken the lease that the land-owner (G_D) had provided. Just as a modern landlord can evict a tenant if the tenant violates the terms of the lease, the Canaanites came to practice child sacrifice, sacrificing the first-born male children to Ba’al, or Ashtoreth, or Moloch. This was not something that G_D had commanded or even permitted, so they were to be evicted from that land, using the Jews to do so.

So beginning from that day, described in the first chapter of Joshua where the Israelites crossed the Jordan into the Promised Land, Jews have continuously lived in what is now called Israel. There have always been Jews there practicing to the best of their ability faithfulness to the commandments of Hashem. If for only a day, all of the Jews had been “evicted”, then their claim to the land would be broken, and they would be like all the other peoples laying claim to the land. Yet with all the times Israel had been conquered and her people taken into slavery, G_D preserved a faithful remnant to continue the “deed to the land” that G_D had provided those first Israelites.

The Canaanites? Dead and gone. We have one mention in scripture of the Canaanite woman (aka “Syrio-Phonetician” in today’s academic lingo), who begged Jesus to cure her daughter. After that, nothing, neither in Scripture nor in any of the histories and commentaries written by the Romans; and we can safely assume that the Canaanites died out as a separate, unique ethnological group sometime between 100 AD and 300 AD through slavery, intermarriage, or being forced out by the Romans.

The current group that is trying to claim that they are the descendants of the original Canaanites are in fact Arabs, brought in by the Arab Muslim invasions of the 600s and 700s. Since the original tenants (Israelites) still were holding the land and were not driven out by the invaders, then it is the Arab Muslims who are, in fact, the “colonialist empire”, " later adapted for a foreign religion".
