I assume the point is to have people ask why the Church is red. I presume the answer to be something like, “Red, to call attention to the blood spilled by Christians in the Middle East.”

From what I understand, red is the liturgical color for martyrdom.

And the traditional color of Communism.

And more recently US states that have voted Republican.

I hear you. I haven’t decided yet if they’re a passing phase or here to stay. If it’s here to stay, I better start learning the language. I feel the same way about most of the slogans I see on clothing. We’re so much more than billboard (name removed by moderator)ut/outputs.

It wasn’t just the churches - most landmarks were lit up red, the London Eye, Big Ben, it was a marvellous sight and well reported on the news so people would have known what it was about.
