The marriage for procreation argument doesn’t hold because there are plenty of marriages ordained by God where no procreating occurs. Nor bother with a child needs a mother and father. Plenty of children either as a result of death or through some other reason are raised by single parents.

what else do i need to learn from their view point? the two words, “gay” and “marriage” says it all. it should go together with the other two words, “women” and “priests”. the simple answer is “no”

let me support this with another fact. to compare gay marriage to a barren couple is not a good argument. you are comparing the entire population of one side, to a small sample of the population of the other side which favors one’s argument. isn’t that selective reasoning? you can’t compare an entire population to a very small slice of another. out of 10 heterosexual couples, how many will fail to produce a child naturally? 1? 0.5? 0.1? 10 out of 10 homosexual couples cannot naturally procreate. its not a comparison.

It is a consistent application of orthodox Christian belief…marriages must be OPEN to the POSSIBILITY of life. Even a couple who believe they cannot ever have natural children must be open to accepting them if they are somehow created.

Homosexual unions are, by definition, closed to creating life.

thats a simpler and better way of putting it 👍

yes, i neglected to state that even if a couple is barren, they still have the right body parts to produce a child, so the miracle of life is not that distant a possibility.

I think its safe to say that since the RC does not recognize gay marraiges nor female Priests, it shouldn’t really be much of an issue to them if its another religion.

It just makes us sad for our Episcopalian brothers and sisters to have their church moving farther from God’s truth.

thats not the way it works. Catholics are concerned about the world. okay, in reality maybe not all, but thats what an ideal Catholic is. the Pope exemplifies this. not because one religion decides to do something, it doesn’t mean it does not concern Catholics at all. the concerns of this world is the concern of the Church. Christ established the Church to preach the Gospel and Salvation to all, no exceptions. the Church wouldn’t sit around and accept threats to the morality of mankind just because its happening in another faith

Yes and believers in other faith traditions care about the world too. I’m guessing even some non believers care about the world.

CMatt, i learn my interpretations from the Chuch who is the one who’s authorized to pass on the teachings of Jesus through the Apostles and the one who can properly clarify these teaching including the verses of the Bible. the Church says that marriage is only between a man and a woman. thats all i need to know about the subject. sorry but i’m not going to let myself be misled by other people’s personal opinions about Scripture

i never said they don’t. however, a lot of people has misguided beliefs on what serves the world well. in fact, everyone, every person in this world cannot hope to know what is best for the entire world. good thing in the Church we are guided by the words of God and the teachings of His Son. and the inspiration of the Holy Spirit

Dude, I really admire the courage and heroism of you guys over there. You’re an inspiration. I was never in the military, dad and grandparents were. You’re awesome. And you’re so right. Those dips couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn from what I see. And those AK’s they use are so close-range and no match for the 16.

Are things getting better over there? How’s the morale situation? You guys hang in there. We sure haven’t forgotten you!! 👍

Well, your certainly entitled to your opinion; however I don’t think the Episcopal Church feels the same way, but do take comfort in that its nice to know that others are concerned for our well being.

I appreciate your (name removed by moderator)ut however while that’s the way it may work in the RC, its not the way it works in the Episcopal Church; another reason why the RC and TEC are so far apart in the religious world.

There are things that the RC does that we as Episcopal’s find dreadful and it keeps us far apart and most likely will for a long time. However, we won’t force our beliefs on you, nor do we expect you to force your beliefs upon us as well.
