Essential Norms, Canadian Version?

I’ve never seen anything similar promulgated by the CCCB, but I have not seen everything published in the last 10 years.

I tried and I get as many answers as the people I asked. Aside from the universal norms stated on the GIRM, any adaptations would have to be temporarily coming from your Bishop or even the Parish Pastor.

You’d better check the link. These ‘essential norms’ have nothing to do with liturgy but deal with legal matters.
 
Side question on Canadian Liturgy: Are you guys ever going to start saying the Nicene Creed on regular Sunday Masses, or stick with the Apostles’ Creed? I heard Archbishop Pendergast tried to get it going some years ago in Halifax, but that’s it, apart from Easter maybe.

😃 (please read this a good-natured ribbing. I love Canadian Catholics. But I’m pretty sure that the Niceno-Constantinopolitan Creed is preferred by the Vatican.)

We have an indult to use the Apostles’ Creed. Why? No idea. I asked a priest and he said it was probably because it was easier to learn. :shrug:I can’t remember when we last used the Nicene in my parish.

That said, the third edition of the Roman Missal allows use of either Creed so you may see more countries starting to use the Apostles’ Creed.
