I agree with you 👍. I know my feelings are inclined towards the despair end of the spectrum but God is Good and Justice (and hopefully mercy in my case :)) will prevail.
Your feelings are understandable in the spiritual desert in which we live but you certainly have no cause for despair. The beauty - and uniqueness - of Christ’s teaching is that justice and mercy are intertwined:

“Forgive us as we forgive…”

WE alone are the ones who are determine what we receive… 🙂

He could, just as easily, be speaking the truth.
Everyone can sound convincing, don’t you agree?
Yes, we most certainly need help. Doing things on our often leads to much unhappiness.
We must know ourselves before we can know others. We must help “I”, in order to help others.
This is true. The grace of God within, beckoning us toward Him.
He’s just waiting for attention

Well, they can test them, at least 3 Eucharistic Miracles have been tested, the thing I think he meant was even if they test them, they are unable to come up with a natural explanation.
Who is “they”? Scientists can not test them. Tell me how many Scientists are able to do just that. In house does not count.

The Church has never taught that the universe exists **solely **for the benefit of mankind. The attitude of St Francis towards animals and inanimate objects is an example of the view that nature is valuable in itself
I would agree with that, and do quite like St Francis. As far as the universe and the church goes, I will not make arguments here about that here in this thread. I think they speak for themselves.

It is important to distinguish the Church from individual Catholics who misrepresent the teaching of Christ.

OK, define “test”. When I say test, I mean analyze the object, the event, the testimonies, and any other possible evidence or artifacts and making or supporting a hypothesis for it. For those three, the scientists supported the “supernatural” hypothesis.

What particular alleged and unscientifically tested miracle are you referring to in this case?

The Miracle which I called tested was the Eucharistic Miracle of Lanciano. which has been proven to be real, fresh flesh and blood in spite of being ~1300 years old and where all the pellets of blood weigh the same as one another, and all 5 weighs the same as one. source (And that’s just one source!)

Now, there are miracles which haven’t been properly, scientifically tested. I think Our Lady of Zeiton can be an example, but I’ve done far from a lot of research on that. 🙂

I have read about this miracle. Thank you for answering my question, because I thought you were going to talk about some of the many others I would have rather sank my teeth into for discussion.

That is one, that I can even ask myself if it could be.

Eternal happiness is quite the illusion actually, born out of early man’s fear and propelled by tradition and mythical deceit.
There’s absolutely no evidence that eternal happiness exists, or even anything beyond what your existence was the 14 billion years before you were conceived.

True that. But, are they really practicing deceit? I have a hard time with accepting willful decision when limited possibility for free will existed.

I guess I was referring more to the deceitfulness of the compounded mythical stories upon people, not people willfully deceiving others. (Minus some of course)

This kind of anthropological speculation is highly out of date. They are just vacuous statements.

Speaking to the thread, I don’t think it’s an illusion at all. Our innate desires order us to objective realities, so that things like our desire for nourishment prove the existence of food. Likewise, our desire for eternal happiness proves that it is attainable. This is the promise and truth of Christianity.

I dont think ‘eternal;’ happiness is possible. Eventually that which makes us happy will cease to give us the joy we originally had for it. For instance, remember as a child opening that toy you really wanted for Christmas? Remember how much fun you had playing with it and how happy you were? Well, here is that toy now? Can it still bring the happiness you had as a child? Im betting no.

Simply put humanity is a finicky race. We need something new to keep ourselves interested and entertained once the object we were using has ceased to be enjoyable for us.
