Having the backing of the electorate means he will get to represent
the will of the majority
Except the majority of people didn’t vote for him - ‘first past the post’ delivered his majority, not proportion of votes.

So, let’s have a list of his practical achievements in Government - all those supposed world-beating policies.

No rush, I live in the UK and it’s getting late.

Its got to do with voting for an individual or a party. Its the system used in Canada, Usa, Aust and the UK. If you feel strongly about PR system you could relocate back to Europe. Former Prime Minister Iain Duncan Smith says - " We can not go on allowing the EU to bullying us in these negotiations "

@Kaninchen lives in Europe.

Your mention of that failed politician IDS brought to mind this post, from my dangerous Lib-Dem neck of the woods:

But don’t let me take your mind off the job — that list of Mr Johnson’s practical achievements.

It’s all going to get worse as the eagerness for people to blame - other than Brexit fanatics (ie all of them) themselves, obviously - grows exponentially.

We quake before a mind trained by a language course in Italy and a couple of days management training.

That Garden Bridge looks pretty good, though, doesn’t it?

I expect to bridge to Ireland will look almost as good.

Never mind. I look forward to a time when Corona-19 is gone and forgotten and we can all jet off from Boris Island Airport.

House of Parliament l
I assumed this was a misprint because there are two houses which collectively are “the Houses of Parliament”

But now you have also referred to IDS as a former Prime Minister, I think you need to do some googling about British politics if you want to discuss them effectively.

Maybe the U.S. can put up important issues for national referendum.
