You do. I don’t. If Islam is of equal importance to European culture conceptually, then it’s erroneous to say the EU is “Christian” in any manner.
To have Christianity mentioned as a separate “source” alongside Enlightenment values, humanism, classical heritage and so on, is something I fully support
Even worse.

As to the U.S., I never claimed the U.S. has an explicitly Christian conception. You’re the one claiming the EU is virtually a Catholic institution. It isn’t.

Never once said it was a “Catholic institution”. I just deny that it’s the ‘kind’ of secular institution you think it is

In origin, it was founded by Catholics and is indebted to Catholic Social Doctrine.

And it’s still supported in principle by the Vatican, Papacy and European bishops.

Those are facts, not some ad hoc interpretations on my part.
