Aside from the ordinary miracle of just receiving the Eucharist at all, I have several times noticed what I consider to be a miracle. I don’t chew the host, but keep it on my tongue at the roof of my mouth. On my way to receive the Blood, it slowly begins to soften up, but not like anything made of bread that I have ever eaten. It actually starts to gelatinize (if that makes any sense at all) and forms soft, fleshy pieces. I was trying to describe it to someone, and all I could think of was that it seemed like very tender fat from a steak, but has the sort of wheaty flavor. (sorry if that seems gross, but it’s the only way I can get this experience across.)
