Christmas and Easter have been reclassified under neopagan titles, “Winter Festival” and “Spring Festival”.

While the EU failed to include the festivals of Europe’s majority religion, the diaries mention the far lesser known Europe Day on May 9.

At the foot of the page on which Christmas Day appears, school children are offered only secular wisdom: “A true friend is someone who shares your concerns and doubles your joy.”

I suppose the Church had better cowboy up and get to work. Obviously, depending on any secular government to do so, is ill advised.

I’m with Pope Benedict XVI-- let’s just see Europe (and America, for that matter) as mission fields requiring a new evangelization, and get down to the business of bringing Christ to the nations. Christians need to rally together, and do the work Christ gave us.

We shouldn’t be surprised when pagans act like pagans. It just helps us know what work we have left to do.
