I’m a saint too, but Christ is still the only mediator.
You are not recognising the difference between THE Mediator and the mediators. If your child asked you to pray for her, would you refuse and tell her to go straight to Jesus? Of course not. You’d pray for her. This is what the saints do, this is what our Blessed Mother does. We’re all mediators.

But you don’t have the same access to Christ we have. You perhaps even have a wrong understanding of Christ. We’re not following man, we follow Christ directly. The CC submits to Christ, our teachings are from him and his 12 (11) apostles. Our hierarchy don’t pluck this out of nowhere, and our hierarchy are as much a part of this as we are. We all follow Christ. Look at the Hebrew Bible. God used prophets to lead Israel, but it was still him leading them. This is what the Catholic Church is. She speaks with HIS authority. We follow him.

We don’t follow what we ‘feel,’ or our own egos (which is what an idea that we have a right to personally interpret or twist Scripture how we want really is) which is what the entire Protestant movement is based on. We do nothing but what Christ tells us. Individually we sin, but as a body we obey him. How could we not? He promised that the gates of hell would never prevail on the Church he founded on St Peter. To say that falsehood etc has entered the CC is to say that the gates of hell have prevailed, and to call our Blessed Lord a liar…
The gates of hell will not prevail against Christ’s Church, built upon Jesus Christ the Rock.
If you truly want to follow Christ Jesus, you need to rest fully on him and his finished work at calvary, untill you do, you will not be saved.

So why do you call her co-mediatrix, or whatever it is?

Jesus’s first missionary words were “The Kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe the good news.”

Sacred Scripture is understood in light of Christ and interpreted by the CC. No amount of misunderstood quotes you produce will change the fact that you have to repent. Seriously, this is the most anti-intellectual thing I’ve heard in at least 23 days.
I’m sure if Jesus had said (as His first Words) “Believe on Me and be saved!”, He might not have got very far.😃

ChrisusV, you are confusing what God commands, and what is necessary for Salvation. In light of the ALL the scripture posted in #856 including His own Words that we are saved through Him by belief (plus nothing), I can’t make it any clearer than that.

That is truly ridiculous, who said that?
Rinnie keeps leaving and then coming back to twist my words. Not very “Catholic”.

We were talking about Salvation. Repentance and keeping the commandments is not a condition of Salvation. Free Gifts don’t come with strings, as noted about 800 posts ago. 🙂

Alwaysgrateful, I apologise for being rude. I was shocked by the counter intuitiveness of your ideas which seem utterly ridiculous to me and most others. You have no right to twist the Gospel like that - but you’re right, that’s no excuse for rudeness.
Thank you for your apology.

Don’t you think that Jesus would be VERY clear when dealing with something as important as our salvation? And the Apostles and Paul - don’t you think they would be crystal clear?

I’m not twisting the Gospel - I’m posting their very words and the very Word of God! How can you look at post #856 and say it’s twisting?!

I really want to know, please.

I knew that, I just wanted them to explain where you had said what they had twisted. lol, if that makes any sense. 🙂

If keeping the commandments is not necessary for salvation, then we can do anything we want and still be saved. There is no twisting of words going on, just a lot of OSAS nonsense.

The Bible is not the sole rule of our faith – nor is it of yours, apparently, if you believe in the Holy Trinity.
The Bible proves the Holy Trinity, it might not use those exact words, but we all know what the Holy Trinity is.

Ah, but if we are changed creatures, why would we want to carry on in sin, it makes no sense whatsoever.

Your friend Always said that.
Hey Brit72, since we are “friends” and “chums”, let me introduce myself.
I’m Laura - a chick not a man as mistaken by many here. I just figure they see the male figure of Christ in me, so it’s a-ok when they refer to me as a “him”. 🙂

You’re showing progress!

Added: in other words, if something is implied rather than overtly stated in the Bible, that does not automatically make it anti-scriptural.

1 Corinthians 6:12
All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.

All means ALL. Does that mean that a saved person would run out and commit murder because all things are lawful? Oh course not! If the Holy Spirit dwells inside you, do you commit murder? No way!
