Yep thats what I thought you were saying. And yep you and always are on the same page.

Please show me scripture where it says we are saved through faith alone. Always couldn’t maybe you can.
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9

I agree we are saved by Grace, But show me where it say’s Faith ALONE?

Do you believe that God will give or deny eternal life to every man according to his works. Y or N?

NOT A REQUIREMENT OF SALVATION!

This means that faith alone saves, not we can go against God if we want to, because we wont want to.
Brit dear, think about this logically. Put aside the emotive psycho-babble of your ‘plurality of elders.’

Would Christ command us to do something unnecessary?

And are you honestly telling me that you don’t ever want to sin? Because if you don’t - what’s going on when you’re tempted? I’m a young man, and I’m afflicted with the typical crippling wounds that you might expect a man of this foul generation to have. It takes the slightest thing to set me off, and BANG - there’s a raging battle inside me. Sometimes God will win, sometimes I’ll win. But make no mistake - in circumstances like this, it IS us against God. The human person is capable of wanting two things at one time. This thing about someone who has been “saved” never wanting to sin is rubbish. If that’s the case, then no-one is saved. Because when it comes down to it, there is a part of us which wants our autonomy, wants that fruit that we know we shouldn’t want, and will take it. Accepting Christ as your saviour does not change this. Sure, it may change over a lifetime but few of us are perfected this side of death.

Not that I want to start up another area of debate, but that’s the beauty of purgatory 😛

Therefore being justified** by faith**, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 5:1.

Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

I agree every word. This is Catholic teaching. But show me where it say faith alone?

Trouble with something like the KJV is that words change meaning over the course of 500 years.

.
It is very easy to find out what certain words that are used differently now, meant then. In my bible it has a dictionary of old meanings, so I can understand what I am reading.

How do you know that that’s reliable? How do you know there’s not an agenda there to lead you away from a different interpretation?

What did the meaning of the word “meat” mean?

Yes, the unsaved will be judged and condemned by their works.
The saved will suffer loss, but will still be saved.

I’ll try to be clearer.
The old flesh is still there and it wants and loves sin, but I am a new creature and that part of me the new Spiritual part of me, certainly does not want to sin. It wants to please God.

lol, good one.

Right, I’m turning in for the night now. Don’t know what the time is where you are but in the UK it’s time for bed.

Will pray that you continue to have an interesting conversation. Rinnie, don’t try to hang them. Just hand them the rope, eventually - EVENTUALLY - they’ll do it themselves.

Brit - be intellectually honest with yourself.

Saved43 - you’ve only just joined, and I bet Brit or always_gr8ful know you in real life? Either way, I find your rhetoric distasteful. Please take it elsewhere, if I wanted that sort of rubbish I’d look at Count Chickula’s website.

Where does scripture say that. That only the unsaved will be judged, I thought that all men will be judged according to their works?

This is where the Holy Spirit is very helpful, as he teaches us the meaning of Scripture and the Scripture I have shown you is showing that faith alone saves. Sometimes we invent little saying’s and that is where the confusion is.

Don’t set up a dualistic view of yourself. It’s not healthy and it’s not scriptural, unless you take a twisted interpretation. Own your own actions, be in control of yourself and learn self-mastery. Don’t try and blame your “old flesh.” Until you can do that you’ll never conquer sin.

“Old flesh,” really. What nonsense. You’ll have this flesh until the resurrection. You sound like a Gnostic!

REALY! Following a command of God the Triune God is just a sugestion then. What utter foolishness.
