Ever thought of plastic surgery?

Thank you for being accepting 🙂 As a kid it was unusual to me that women would want surgery to enhance them, hehe. I am not transgender, but yes, this procedure is usually part of their transition. I believe genital reconstruction surgery is immoral, but other things seem okay to me. People tell me it would be mutilating my body, but I don’t see how it is different from getting a breast reduction or breast augmentation. Sorry to turn this thread around to me.
If I may ask, why in heaven’s name would you want to completely remove both your breasts? You don’t want to have breasts at all??

As a woman, this seems very unhealthy…

Hi Debora, that is correct, they just don’t feel right on me. It’s hard to explain but I prefer to have a male-like chest, not just a small chest. Think of being born with a male organ, it would just feel odd right? I don’t feel unhealthy, just different, but I don’t think counseling will help the situation.

Do you suffer from sex identity disorder?

No, you can see what I put four posts above. I used to struggle with gender issues more when I was younger, but they have subsided. I would still like to appear more male, but I love being a girl 🙂

I know I am joining in late but I too have considered plastic surgery. I developed early when I was younger and have worn a D cup since I was 16 so I have always wanted reduction surgery and I wouldn’t mind getting rid of this layer of fat across my belly that just will NOT go away no matter how hard I try. On the other side of the coin though I figure I will wait until I am finished having kids before I get any type of work done and do what I can now to try and minumize the damage.

How come? Unless, were you joking?
Joking…well, mainly.

My wife has had four children via c-section. Like many women, her tummy is stretched, scarred, and lose. I would not begrudge her a procedure to restore her tummy to something more like its former shape. I don’t think this is vanity. It’s more corrective, in that the attempt is to restore the body.

But while I wouldn’t begrudge her such a procedure, I also won’t push her towards it. I love her regardless and still find her very sexy *.
  • Debora, I’m sure your husband will feel much the same towards you, regardless of what changes your body goes through. You never know what will happen…I have a friend who has three kids and she still has a six-pack.

I know. I’m not worried about my husband ever thinking I’m not beautiful. I care about how I look more for myself than for anyone else. Thank you for the message of hope though. 🙂

FWIW, after I had my son, 2 weeks later, my husband saw me in my underwear and told me how beautiful I still looked. I thought he was crazy!

Then a year later, DH said the same thing, but I felt a little “frumpy” after a little weight gain. So finally when my son turned 2, I began dieting and went from 142 lbs to 129 lbs and now my DH thinks I’m “smoking”.

He was happy with me before and although he loves my new body even more, he was still happy with what I felt was “frumpy”.

I think our husbands are a lot easier on us than we are on ourselves.

When it comes to our physical appearances, us women are our own harshest critics.

I am in the process of loosing weight, if I reach my goal weight I would consider a mommy makeover. I would particularly like not having larger breasts. I have had them since fith grade, and think I would just be more comfortable with less up there.

So when you get a lift do they put an implant to make them well....perky? How does that work?

You CAN put implants in there to make them extra perky, but they are definitely optional. It really depends on each individual’s body and what they want the results to be.

Here’s some info on the procedure:

we lose volume on the top part of our breasts, so the implant will put that volume back in and make the breast appear perky

if you have just a lift, your nipple will be higher, but you will still not have the volume on the upper part of the breast.

I’ve watched make over shows and the difference is very noticable. You can tell if there’s an implant usually, vs a natural breast. I personally wouldn’t bother with an implant b/c it usually doesn’t look real. if I had work done, I’d want it to look as natural as possible.

I am turning 41. Last year when I turned 40, I hit a mini life crisis and went to see a plastic surgeon who basically sent me home :o I was lucky to find a doctor who is ethical. He laughed at me and told me that I was gorgeous and I should go home.

He did say that I could do botox if I wanted to (as a preventative measure).

I look at pictures of women who have had plastic surgery and honestly, I think mostly they look terrible! Pillow face comes to mind.

Then I read a recent article that botox used in mice actually caused muscle attrophy in the face AND other muscles in their body that were untreated. This would accelerate the aging process and cause extra bone loss.

Also, in the face, the muscle atrophy would lead to quicker bone loss and hence, an older, but wrinkle free face…think Nicole Kidman…It is scary that 20 something year olds are injecting their face with stuff that actually will cause them to age faster.

I am guilty of the sin of vanity :o I told my husband about my visit and he laughed at me.
One idea would be to donate the amount of money that one would spend on cosmetic surgery to groups who repair cleft palates, and who do other reconstructive surgery for children who can’t get it otherwise.

I second this idea!
