Have you read ā€œAn exorcist tells his storyā€ by Father Gabriel Amorth? He was the chief exorcist of the Vatican

Larson had folks call in, heā€™d exorcise them right on the radio. Really kept control of the demons- he order them to keep quiet as he made a pitch for funds during breaks in the exorcism.
Mr. Larson is still apparently active in the field of exorcism, and he has a few of his exorcisms on youtube.

Nope! Iā€™d die of fear in an instant or/and probably run to the nearest church and pray all day.

I have lived in western countries (US and Italy) and an eastern and in the Philippines. Yes, there seem to be a higher number of true exorcisms needed in the Philippines because animistic worship, witchcraft and sorcery are much more present here.
I agree I live in the philippines and sadly I see a lot of monstrous pagan worship in some places even in the city.

Only a Roman Catholic priest has the power to exorcise. No layman, no matter how holy, should attempt such a thing. At least, that is what I once heard an exorcist say in an interview.

Many years ago on another Catholic forum, a former psychiatric nurse told a story about how his co-worker (another male nurse) attempted to exorcise two patients in a psychiatric ward. The nurse wound up a patient there. It turned really nasty.

I own it, and I have read a couple of chapters. Everytime I pick it up, another book distracts me.

Maybe I should reflect on that the next time I pick it up. šŸ˜€

There are far less cases of demonic possession in the US, as we are materialistic and the evil one already owns many of us. It is much more frequently seen in Caribbean and some African nations, due to their deep spirituality and the mixing of Christianity with animist religions and Santeria, as well as other occult practices.

Remember also that a possessed person cannot normally seek help themselves - they are possessed and the demon(s) will not allow it. In scripture, some demons spoke up when they saw Jesus, as they knew Who He was.

Our parish priest is form Ghana, and he has performed exorcisms in his home land. Witnessing an exorcism might seem cool, but you are in both physical and spiritual danger in such cases.

An interesting interview with an exorcist priest: Pedro Barrajon, Paul Badde: Hell is a state (28/12/2005) - signandsight

And, not all exorcisms turn out as well as expected: The Dark Backward: Demons in the Real World
