Yes, the St. Benedict medal has an exocism attached to it. I keep losing mine.

I had a friend who moved into a townhouse where a woman was killed by her husband (she did not realize it was the same apt.).
Her cat simply would not enter a certain bedroom in that apt.
It would sit outside the door and slash his tail back and forth. She had been killed in the bedroom. Needless to say, when she found out she high-tailed it from the apartment. They had to let her leave.

We can’t allow ourselves to dwell on these horrible things. We are supposed to meditate constantly on heavenly things only. :angel1:

Like they say, “Fake it 'til ya make it.” 😉

They say there are countless angels with us at Mass. I think they’re always in Church around the Tabernacle adoring our Lord even when we’ve all gone home. After all, there are a lot of angels.
What a lovely thought. I think I’ll adopt this belief as my own; if Angels are anywhere, they will be present at the Sacrifice of Our Lord at the Mass.
This is very true, and that’s why we should avoid anything even remotely trying to delve into the supernatural such as seances, ouija boards, tarot cards, palm reading, fortune tellers, astrology, voodoo, santeria, wicca/witchcraft, and of course, satanism.
I agree completely. Sometimes, however, people are oppressed by evil spirits through no fault of their own; they may be cursed or live in a haunted house.

This thread has been a great source of information. It is good to know what to do in case of attack from the evil one. Many people on this forum have shared stories of when this has happened to them. I, myself have experienced the workings of spirits and demons in my own life. Back then, I didn’t know what to do, but thanks to threads like this, I now have a better idea.

I’ve recently been reading another thread about the what Scripture says about the “evil eye.”

Prior to reading that thread, I knew very little about the “evil eye” and I am still no expert.

Since this thread is about things like this, I thought I’d ask what you all know about this supposed curse?

Do you know much about the “malocchio?” What are your thoughts about it? I tend to think it’s just a pagan superstition but I’ll reserve judgement until I know more.

I regularly pray to the Saints but I think I stopped praying to my Guardian Angel because I know very little about their purpose. Why do we have Guardian Angels? What is their purpose?
When you’re a child, they provide some measure of physical protection. I believe that as you grow older, they gradually relinquish that responsibility, except in truly grave situations or where you ask for their help.

I remember reading that when you suddenly think of someone, it’s because your guardian angel has been asked by THEIR guardian angel to pray for them. I know that as my daughters were growing up and I was away from them, I would ask my guardian angel to ask THEIR guardian angels to remind them that I love them.

A couple months ago I was in Mexico and took a walk through an area that had representations of the Aztec gods, some were actual archaeological items and others were duplicates. As I was walking I was suddenly overcome with a feeling of despair the like of which I have never experienced in my life. I was sure there was no God and when I died that was it. I literally ran out of the exhibit and once I was out the depair left. Still today two months later the experience scares me and the doubts creep in.

Was this the result of evil spirits or just an over active imagination?
It sounds like a dementor attack.

I have one above every entrance and window in my home. this was recommended to me by my parish priest. st. benedict medals require a special blessing. the initials on the back of the medal represent words of prayer for exorcism against all evil.
My son wears a St. Ben medal. It was blessed, but not with a “special blessing.” Could you please elaborate? Also, I was thinking of putting a green scapular above the doors to my wife’s classroom this fall – out of sight, since it’s a public school – but perhaps a St. Ben medal would be better???

Any thoughts and information would be appreciated.

God bless all!
Dan

P.S.: We live a half-hour’s drive from the B’hai (sp?) Temple in northern Illinois. When I was a punch-in, punch-out Sunday Catholic in college, I visited the place and found it interesting, but not worth a second visit. Years later, sometime after attending a Life in the Spirit seminar, I took my girlfriend – now wife – to that place and neither she nor I could stand going closer than the first few steps of the building. (I wanted to show her the place since she had never visited it, having lived in the city for only a few years.) We were just repulsed by the place.

Thats cute! I guess I should have tried Expecto Patronum
My thoughts exactly! 😛 Remember to eat lots of chocolate, too. You may want to carry an emergency pack with you, too!😃

However, on the serious side, I’d be getting a blessed St. Benedict medal:
