Umm…I refer to the Catechism, the teaching of the Popes and Bishops.

You refer to some website.

Who’s been misled?
What I and these other all Catholic websites are trying to tell you is that whilst claiming to do what you are claiming you do no such thing and being misled you could be misleading others - it is you and not they it seems that needs correcting for Evolution is of such great moment or importance as to not even be mentioned in the Catechism whilst at 282 we read that “Catechesis on creation is of major importance”.So this is also, and if not should be,the teaching of the Popes and Bishops and all Catholics everywhere - twinc

Just as an observer, I have asked myself more than once. Is twinc a Catholic?🤷
What is the problem here - when or where did I say I was an Atheist - anyway fine Atheist I would make directing others to all Catholic websites - come now be reasonable if not fair - twinc

Why do you seek to distort and misrepresent what the Catholic Church teaches about the relation of science and religion? Everything that everyone on this thread has posted in response to your ramblings is consistent with what the Catholic Church teaches.
if only you had noted carefully I unlike others try to keep my own personal ramblings to a minimum by exhorting others to consult the experts and specialists and keep directing them to reliable and trustworthy all Catholic websites etc - twinc

I’m glad you keep your ramblings to a minimum because most of your posts are incoherent drivel. What would they be like if they were longer?

Hiyas:)

IMHO; Here is just an example of your misinterpretation.

Many of us have signatures.

The Atheist quote below the line or picture…Is my signature

I hope this helps

Have you tried writing the Vatican?
After you school them…They should be able get out the information.

I hope this helps

incoherent, again according to who - you seem to be getting it and not liking it plus a few others,so what.No blame or responsibility for getting it wrong, many others have as well - it could even be me and all the other all Catholic experts and specialists on more than one all Catholic website or creationists according to Dr.Dawkins.So first look around and see the company some Catholics would rather keep -btw I have it here in front of me that in October a MORI Poll commissioned by the British Council found that more than half of those questioned…54%…believed that children should be taught about creationism as well as evolution in school science classes. They also want children to be taught about intelligent design.Only 21%believed that evolution alone should be taught - btw guess what Dr.Dawkins on behalf of many Catholic evolutionists presumably, but I hope not, thinks about creationists - anyway a good all Catholic[UK]creation science website is at www.DaylightOrigins.com - twinc

Nothing wrong with the Vatican,or the Bible or God for as creationists we have them on our side and cannot be faulted or fail - twinc

Hiyas twinc:)

You do realize that Scripture.com is not affiliated…or sponsored by / with the Catholic Church don’t you? It isn’t endorsed by the Catholic Church. It is Mr John Salza’s Site Not the Catholic Churchs’.

You using his opinions as evidence…is as good as holding mine. We are NOT the Holy See. We can give apology BUT we can not be taken above the Catholic Church.

Might I suggest not using that site as your only source?

I hope this helps
I can give you many other all Catholic sources but you will probably reject them also,in fact you could have searched them yourself by using your search box,Some rather than search it for themselves come with weird and wonderful prouncements that evolution is an open question for Catholics and Catholics may accept or reject evolution and then go on to qualify this nonsense by stating the Pope/Popes say so and this is what the Church teaches as if this could impossibly ever even be so - twinc

There is not a teaching on evolution because Catholics are free to believe it or not. We are not bound either way.
Who says so,except you and some others who have been alas and sadly misguided and misled on this one - so sorry to have to fault you and put you back on the right track if this is not what you want me to do but to go along with you and be a nice fellow well met - so the Pope in humani generis did not allow Catholics to accept evolution as is claimed by many but only to discuss it and only in so far as it inquiries into the origin of the human body as coming from a pre-existant and living matter - more later especially on " open question" misinterpreted and accept by many as “the Church teaches and the P ope said so” - more later - twinc

God is on the side of the creationists-"so sayeth the Twincanator

so lets not take the words of creationists or phony/pseudo Christian evolutionists seeking to reconcile and compromise.Lets see what the real evolutionists have to say about compromise etc.It seems that real evolutionists have a better grasp as regards what Christianity is and stands for than christian evolutionists do[to be continued] - twinc
so now to save me the effort - go now to www.DaylightOrigins.com and then click on "in six days " by the Irish Flag and then go to L/H column scroll down to “what scientists say” and then come back and tell us you agree or not - twinc

CCC 283 The question about the origins of the world and of man has been the object of **many scientific studies **which **have splendidly enriched our knowledge of the age and dimensions of the cosmos, the development of life-forms and the appearance of man. **These discoveries invite us to even greater admiration for the greatness of the Creator, prompting us to give him thanks for all his works and for the understanding and wisdom he gives to scholars and researchers. With Solomon they can say: “It is he who gave me unerring knowledge of what exists, to know the structure of the world and the activity of the elements. . . for wisdom, the fashioner of all things, taught me.”

I completely agree with CCC 282. And all the CCC

Nothing in the CCC denies the acceptability of theories of evolution in general. It’s only when science oversteps it bounds that such theories could lead to error.

There’s nothing contrary to the Catholic faith with accepting a theory of evolution, properly understood, and depending on the specific conclusions a given theory draws.

And, by the way, I may be wrong, but I think most participants in this thread disagree with your posts, not mine, though I’m always open to correction and further understanding.

You may want to read this address from John Paul II if it would help you understand the Catholic Church’s position beyond what’s in the CCC:

To save us trouble, go to a web site that presents authentic official Catholic teaching (unlike the random one you sent us to):

vatican.va/holy_father/benedict_xvi/speeches/2008/october/documents/hf_ben-xvi_spe_20081031_academy-sciences_en.html

If Pope Benedict doesn’t convince you then I won’t attempt any further either.

it is not I that needs convincing for in 2008 the Pope only confirmed what I was convinced about for how could it be otherwise.Neither the Pope nor anyone else needs to give creationists permission to accept creationism but evolution cannot and must not be accept by Catholics but sadly is in much the same way as contraception - twinc

so what - read it before and no problem for creationists, since they do not have a problem with the teaching of scriptures or tradition or the magisterium as is the case with bringing coal to Newcastle - btw I have already shown via humani generis where Catholics do not have permission to accept Evolution but only to research and discuss it and a very limited one at that as only in regards to the human body coming from organic or inorganic matter etc - twinc

I repeat again and again that creationists have no quarrel or disagreement with true science, but do with phony/pseudo non science and nonsense posing in the guise of true science. The Bible and true science agree and how could it be otherwise - twinc

True science proves (not theorises) that the earth is 4.5 billion years old and this is something Catholics are allowed to accept.
