That’s why I don’t particularly care for his style. If that’s what I wanted, I would have joined the military. I’m not a military type and will never be. God bless those who are, but not everybody is cut out for that sort of thing.
Father Corapi is a “soldier for Christ” in the Army of God!
We are in a WAR. A spiritual battle like no other I believe in the history of the world.

Take a look at the images of St. Michael the Archangel.
With the armour and sword!
Do you think he is a “touchy feely” archangel??

Not when you are doing battle with the devil.

Father Corapi is SERIOUS.
He has seen evil up close - even within the church - and he takes that very, very seriously.

If it comes across as harsh - I think some may need a “perception adjustment.” And consider the subject matter being delivered.
There is a time for “righteous anger” or seriousness.
Father Corapi KNOWS those times.

Praise God for Father Corapi.

I can understand where you are coming from, under other circumstances I think I would dislike him intensely. But…I absolutely love and adore him!!!

I am a very introverted, easily intimidated person. I am oppressed even in my own marriage. And, like I said the first time, I didn’t like Fr. Corapi’s style when I first heard it. But I have heard him a few times since and he has grown on me immensely. In each presentation, he gives a strong message of hope in Jesus Christ as well as the urging to repent.

He does talk about the real evil of the devil in the world. That makes me uncomfortable because I know he is soooo right and because he makes the point that we cannot bury our heads and pretend the evil one does not exist. Fr. Corapi’s message always includes the fact that we are in a spiritual war for our souls. Like some other posters have said, I’m sure he has seen some pretty evil things in his day. It’s no wonder that his message is urgent and demanding. He knows what his listeners are facing even if they don’t.

By the way, if the OP doesn’t care for Fr. Corapi, no one should be attacking his faith. So what if he is rubbed the wrong way? It doesn’t mean his faith is weak. I know what it is like to be accused of weak faith just because of my taste in Catholic books. One time, I said I liked Scott Hahn, and someone at the forums jumped all over me for being too modernist… (this is no attempt to hijack this thread, just saying that I know what it is like to have different tastes than someone else and then have my faith called into question)

Well, we’re all different. I find him refreshing, informative, and a welcome ‘voice’ for Catholicism. Which doesn’t make me right and you wrong–nor you right and me wrong. 😃

If Fr. Corapi is not for you, don’t watch. But lots of us do enjoy him.
Amen – I like Father Corapi and have never found him to be harsh.

He speaks the Truth.

Anyone who can’t stomach what he is saying is rejecting Truth. Period.

Yes, his voice is…unique, but that has* nothing* to do with the message. The message is 100% Catholic. So if you don’t like what he says rather than how he says it, you need to do some serious soul searching, my friend.

I personally love him, and would gladly listen to him speak all day every day. It would do my soul good, as it always does when I hear him. In fact, I make it a point to listen to him every morning on EWTN radio online.

I have watched Fr. Corapi, his content is awesome, I am glad that he speaks the cold hard truth. That said, I cannot stand his style! It is just a personal preference, I have nothing but respect and admiration for the man, but for my taste his presentation is too over the top for me, I can take it for about 10 minutes and I’m done. I have tried repeatedly but I can’t get beyond his delivery.

That’s cool, and some people don’t like whiskey without a mixer, but I like my both my liquor and my religion straight.

Others might prefer their drink a little fruitier. I prefer a manly shot that burns your throat and puts fire in your belly.

Not so. Delivery is an extremely important aspect of public speaking. His voice is different and his delivery is different. Some people can handle it and some people can’t. That’s not a rejection of truth at all, that’s a disliking of technique.

I personally love his voice and his delivery!

Does anyone know if his conversion story is available in written form (not in a book, but online or in a pamphlet or something like that)?

I wanted to hand it out in a little packet, along with other info about the Church (perhaps CA’s “Pillar of Fire, Pillar of Truth”), a rosary w/instructions, etc., to the homeless people I pass by on my way to mass.

I know the CDs are free, but most homeless people don’t have CD players, and I can’t afford to put them into the packet. 🙂

Actually, he plans on a much more complete, a more detailed, a more revealing story of his conversion. He was working on it, and put it aside when JPII died to devote time to writing and speaking about JPII…

I hope now that he is intentionally winding down his lecture/teaching conferences, he will resume his autobio… ought to be great.

I love Fr Corapi
got his series on the Catechism

I watched the last episode of his “End Time” series
that really woke me up and really see the war raging between God and Satan going on right now.
Pretty scary.

I like his comment about Mary “If she is good enough for Jesus, she is good enough for me!”

and because of him, I have started to pray and meditate the Rosary every day.

God bless him
and thanks God for sending his messages to me

Sorry…I love the man…doesn’t speak with a new age point of view…he tells it like it is. That is what Catholics need…epsecially during times like these. I look forward to seeing him every week.
I don’t like the guy’s style (way too harsh). What purpose does his approach serve in the grand scheme of things? I wonder who decided he could make a contribution to national evangelization. ***I DON’T GET IT! Whenever I see him on TV, I bolt across the room to change channels or hit the mute button. The guy really gets under my skin. ***😦

Okay, please give me some examples of his teachings that you find so inspiring. What specifically has he said that’s so enthralling?

this is what I learned from him about Mary
“If she is good enough for Jesus, she is good enough for me!”

and “when you are praying the Rosaries, you are praying the Gospel. What is the Gospel? Not a something – the Gospel is a somebody – His name is Jesus”

and “The 18 of mysteries are direct New Testatment references.
Praying/meditating the Rosaries is praying/meditating the life and mission of Jesus Christ. The most powerful prayer there is.”

He is good.

I’ve learned a great deal from him, what specifically, how to turn your life from vice to virtue. You seem rabidly anti Father Corapi, it feels like your keeping this thread alive in hopes of either changeing the mind of those who love him or finding a like minded person. Are you taking in any of the good things being said???

…Pray for people that attack the Church, the Holy Father, the Magisterium. Pray for them, love them indeed, but don’t listen to them and don’t put yourselves nor your children in a position where they or you can be influenced…
…There’s an axiom in metaphysics, ‘Things are received in the mode of the receiver.’ I say this over and over again. You get what you’re ready to get, you receive what you’re ready to receive."

I had similiar feelings about the poster. After reading over 100 posts about why people like him…he posts again asking for specifics because he doesn’t.

Oh well, keep asking for more reasons. I enjoy reading all the positive posts & the reasons people do like him. 👍
