How to perform miracles was not enough eh?

OK how about this then. I often used motorcycle batteries as the power source for some of my electronic projects back when I was in my younger days.

One of these batteries seemed to have a defective lead plate casting, but the battery still worked though. What could be seen, due to the battery casing being composed of clear plastic, was a crack in the lead strip that links one plate to the next plate and so on.

Anyhow, one day I had my batteries up in the apartment where I was recharging them. Eight hours later I checked to see how the batteries were doing, and they seemed to be fully charged because they were consistently bubbling gas, which is what does naturally occur when fully charged.

I picked up that defective battery, and that simple action turned out to be enough to break the crack in the lead completely, and once that occurred a spark jumped across the gap and also ignited the gas.

This created an explosion that was load enough to leave my ears ringing for 24 hours, and was also suffice enough to vaporize most of the battery. The rest of the battery casing was stuck in the four walls surrounding me. I noticed a bit of blood on my hands, and so I headed over to the bathroom I gave myself a look-over after washing the blood off my hands.

There was not a cut to be found, and so where exactly the blood came from is still a mystery. How the explosion did not hurt me in the slightest, other than the ringing ears, is also still a mystery.

A miracle perhaps ?
Now that is amazing. Thanks be to God !

Zenit.org is a Catholic organization.

However, according to the WHO, there is not, and never has been such thing as “the Higher Council of the World Health Organization”. So, Zenit.org is lying in order to give credibility to the Lanciano story, which has none.
As promised, I am getting back to you on this allegation. The Zenit story claims that a scientific commission by the WHO examined the earlier scientific work of Dr. Linoli. Dr. Linoli concluded that the tissue at Lanciano was not preserved by artificial means, lending credence to a “miracle” occurring. The article even says this commission conducted 500 tests the “extract” of which was published in 1976 in New York and Geneva.

If this was a fabrication, it was a peculiar one. How easily could this be debunked as a lie? And what reputation does Zenit have for lying?

So I asked about what you said above regarding this “Higher Council” of the WHO. They responded in one day. This was their response to me on May 28, 2009 (emphasis added):*Kindly note that there is no Higher Council of the World Health Organization (WHO) and, therefore, the document you are referring to has not been produced by WHO.*They were saying that because there was no “Higher Council” as the Zenit article called it, the document was not produced by WHO. Someone earlier suggested that “Higher Council” may have been a journalist’s translation. So I prompted WHO further and responded the same day with the following email:*Do you have a Chief Advisory Board or similar monicker that may have been involved in producing this document, or perhaps members of the WHO of their own accord were involved?*To date, I have yet to receive a reply to this last email of mine. So I continued my investigation.

I came across the following document.
upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/b/ba/Eucharistic_Miracle_of_Lanciano_-public_documentation-commissione_medica_OMS-ONU.JPG/90px-Eucharistic_Miracle_of_Lanciano-public_documentation-_commissione_medica_OMS-ONU.JPG

You can click on it to read it, although it’s in Italian. What is interesting about this little document scan is the seal in the corner depicting what is apparently the cover page of the research document. The seal says “WHO/UNO”. The accompanying headline translates to: “Medical Commission abstract summary of scientific works” or “Medical commission WHO / UN text Summary of Scientific Workers”. Two translations here.

At any rate, this summary, (or perhaps “extract” as Zenit might have put it, no?) concludes with: “Having considered everything, we can deduce that the relics of Lanciano are absolutely not part of any tissue whose preservation could be attributed to nature or the hand of man. With regard to their preservation, one can affirm without fear of being debunked that the so called ‘relics’ are clearly against any law of nature.” Dr. Linoli’s work is specifically cited as the work under scrutiny by this WHO/UN commission.

So if this is authentic, then it appears that the dishonest party involved here are the modern staff at WHO.

Thanks for the detailed eloquent reply.

It seems to me that there is either:

Some kind of coverup/denial of the previous existence of The Higher Council of the World Health Organization
or
The seal of the WHO was falsely placed on the cover of the report.

I would be interested to hear the response to your second email.

Given that there is no trace of this council anywhere on the internet(except for articles that cite Zenit); if it existed it would have worked on other tasks of which there are no trace of; and this report was from only 33 years ago, so any activities of this council would have been thoroughly recorded, I’m leaning strongly towards the opinion that the seal is falsely placed.

How about the miracle of the sun at Fatima? Patrick Madrid has a good video linked on his blog showing pictures from the actual miracle. There were tens of thousands of witnesses, including athiests, photographers, news reporters, etc.👍

There is some kind of heart miracle not mentioned here that interests me a bit.

I wish I could remember the name of it. I will try to find it,. I dont think even with evidence it would matter any more than the shroud of turin or any other claims of miracles I have read about though.

Because I think all these things actually take away belief if there really is a god who is what he claims to be.🤷

I’m guessing the name of “Higher Council” is not an official monicker, but simply that a WHO approved/appointed council conducted the study. I have not yet received a second response from WHO.

If you can think of it, let us know. I’m interested especially in miracles that have undergone scientific scrutiny.

Where’s the link?

Excellent!

So far I have these:

the incorruptibility of St. Bernadette.

The stigmata of Padre Pio.

The Eucharistic miracle at Lanciano, Italy.

What else?
During the promised “sign” by our Lady of Fatima, there was present many reporters from around the world, including many atheistic reporters and skeptics, but I have heard - not read them as of yet - that the stories they posted of seeing the “spinning sun” and after a heavy rain all morning, all the people being completely dry is an amazing testimony of the miracles from people who are (were) professed unbelievers.

If you have any links detailing the scientific scrutiny of any miracle post it here! 🙂

Yes - that was seen by thousands. Both secular and religious. Many miracles and conversions occurred that day.

…Our Lady’s apparitions at Fatima, Portugal, 1917? She appeared to 3 children, gave some prophecies that were later fulfilled (Russia becoming a godless power; second world war coming), and her apparition on October 13, 1917 was accompanied by the “miracle of the Sun”, which was witnessed by 70,000 (seventy thousand) people. But her earlier apparitions, e.g. September 13, 1917, were also accompanied by miracles such as tiny white flower petals falling from the sky, witnessed by hundreds of people. Of all the Marian apparitions I know, Fatima is the most dramatic, given the major miracle of the Sun, the many witnesses, and the prophecies given that were fulfilled during the 20th century. There’s plenty of information on the internet, plus there are the books written by Fr. Robert J. Fox, available from the Fatima Family Apostolate (just google Fr. Fox and Fatima Family Apostolate).
Wikipedia has an article on John Haffert, the co-founder of the Blue Army of Fatima, an organization that boasts 25 million members dedicated to the Fatima pledge. Haffert wrote many books on the subject. At the bottom of the page is a link in the media section. It is an audio file where Haffert describes parts of his book: “Fatima: Meet the Witnesses”. Haffert personally interviewed dozens of Fatima miracle witnesses, the accounts are extraordinary.

He also wrote a book on the Akita Apparitions: “The Meaning of Akita”.

God Bless

I’m sorry for bumping an old thread, but this topic is one that I’m very interested in. A lot of people will dismiss miracles outright, but extraordinary events such as the ones at Fatima go a long ways towards putting skeptics on the defensive, I think. Of course, as Catholics, we shouldn’t be credulous - there are A LOT of charlatans out there.

I want to compile as many well-documented cases of miracles as possible. So please, I hope people post more! Books, articles, stories, etc. I want it all!

You would have to ask your church to allow it for us to view the results. They will not do that.

In house scientists don’t count.

I like the Fatima miracle the best. The Miracle of the Sun at Fatima story seems to me to be the most extraordinary. Although I was not yet born, this miracle is still ongoing and continues to come even more true as time goes on. The Fatima story has made me stronger in my faith.

As some of us already know, many of us never even heard about the miracle of the sun. God sent his Son and Mother to warn us. To this day, the entire third secret has not been revealed to the world as Our Lady has asked. Also to this day, the correct consecration of Russia to the Immaculate heart of the Virgin Mary has not been fulfilled.

When God asks us to do something, we must do it exactly like he asks. It is like a cake recipe or a recipe of building a car. If you do not include all the ingredients, the final result of the product is going to fell. If you purposely leave out the yeast, the cake falls. If you purposely leave out the brakes, the car crashes.

There is no peace in this world. The entire world has the highest divorce rates ever, highest alcoholism, homosexuality, abortions, etc. Guess what country is the leader in the highest rates? Yes, Russia. I have done my research. It is true. What Our Lady has warned us about is coming true on a daily basis. The entire world’s economy is going to waste. What I think the worst of it all is that the Pope continues to be persecuted by the media and pedophiles within the Catholic Church.

I have done my research and have read many books on Fatima. Here is a prayer that was given to the children (Lucy, Jacinta and Francesco) by the Angel of Peace.

I believe, I adore, and I love thee. I ask forgiveness for those who do not believe, nor adore nor love thee Amen.

As you can see above, it would appear that scientist affiliated with the World Health Organization validated aspects of the Miracle at Lanciano. And I also do not think “in-house” scientists should be discounted de facto. They have actually debunked a lot of so-called miracles too, so if we respect their opinion in those cases, we should in cases where they cannot offer scientific explanation.
