With the attack on marriage and family in New York and now after reading this, I sure would like to read some good news today…

Agreed. This is a very tough stance to take. I know that traditionally attendance at a wedding implies approval; but in my experience that tradition has been greatly weakened over the past few decades. Weddings have become outrageously expensive social events and close friends and relatives are expected to show up for the bride’s “big day.” Some of the arrangements have become almost ludicrous, e.g. bridal shower in Las Vegas, wedding two weeks later in Hawaii, etc.
