That is how I wish to die, accepting peacefully the death Our Lord gives me, but there is a lifetime of preparation for it first.

What a beautiful soul! She will probably become a Saint. She is already bringing many to the Lord.

St. Joseph, may we have a happy and peaceful death, accepting the Lord’s will always.

Thank you very much for posting this. God bless you.

“O death, where is thy victory? O death, where is thy sting?”

Buenos Aires, Argentina, Jun 27, 2016 / 05:03 pm (CNA).- Pictures of a young Argentinian nun – smiling and serene though dying from a devastating battle with cancer – have erupted on social media, with thousands sharing the images and heartfelt prayers.
Sister Cecilia Maria lived in Saints Teresa and Joseph Monastery in Santa Fe, Argentina, dedicated to prayer and the contemplative life.
She passed away early on June 22 at age 43.

Interestingly, if some “death with dignity” advocates had their way, there would be fewer Sister Cecilias in the world. It would be socially expected for people to “check out” of life not too long after receiving a terminal diagnosis, before they had to go through pointless suffering.

Yet, I see the death of Sister Cecilia as a TRUE dignified death. I am sure she did suffer, but it was far from pointless.

A very beautiful and poignant story. The beautiful smile on this dying nun is nothing short of extraordinary. I have always held the utmost love and admiration for these holy women who choose to live in a cloistered environment. God Bless You Sister Cecilia Maria…RIP. Saint Thérèse of the Child Jesus and the Holy Face is smiling on you!

Peace, Mark***

Beautiful! Finding joy in suffering is a gift only granted by God! Such an inspiration!

Wonderful article, Robert. 🙂 Thanks, that’s really going to stay with me.

Our Lady and the Carmelite saints have always been so kind to their brothers and sisters here on earth. I am nearly without doubt that St. Thérèse had a hand in the way this transpired, for it much resembles her own death.

Beautiful things happen in Carmel!
