Excommunicated woman "bishop" helps herself to Communion

Sorry, I haven‘t seen this in English yet, but here is the link to the article in Upper Austria‘s local paper, the Oö Nachrichten:

According to the article, Christine Mayr-Lumetzberger, who was excommunicated in 2002 following a mock ordination on the Danube River, came in „bishop‘s“ regalia to a Sunday Mass in Linz at which Bishop Ludwig Schwarz was celebrant. He motioned to her in the Communion line not to approach, but she did anyway and, upon being refused, apparently snatched the Blessed Sacrament from the ciborium.
Imagine being willing to treat Our Lord that way!!

I like one of the comments… The priests of the Society of St. Pius X got excommunicated and that was revised (even though they are still suspended). Their ordination is right, even though unapproved of. The female priests however are center of aggression… Interesting, because the first ones (and their bishop) were actually ordained by a regular roman catholic bishop. Same situation, but here it’s a drama…

While the situations look similar, there is a very important difference. The SSPX ordinations were valid in every respect except for the lack of papal authority. The ordination of women simply isn’t possible, with or without permission. Therefore the ordination of a woman was not only illicit (unapproved) but also invalid (didn’t really take place in the eyes of God).
 
If this story is true, I feel sad for the woman. I think whatever demon or delusion is with her is getting stronger.

If she’s a ‘bishop’ or ‘priest’ or whatever, she can consecrate her own hosts. Why disrupt another communion service? There’s only one entity that would please.

The Sunday worship celebration in the Parish of St. Peter in Linz did not make the excommunicated “Bishop” Christine Mayr-Lumetzberger as happy as she would have wished. Bishop Ludwig Schwarz refused her communion with the Host. Then she took the wafer herself.

400 people joined the celebration of Mass in the Parish of St. Peter on 28 June… It was held in honour of the church’s patron, St. Peter. Among them, high-ranking politicians. But few noticed what happened during the Communion.

Christine Mayr-Lumetzberger was dressed as a Bishop when she appeared at the Mass in official dress with a large pectoral Cross. During the Communion she chose, consciously or unconsciously, the row in which the Diocesan Bishop Ludwig Schwarz distributed communion. The bishop suggested to her that she should not come, because he could not give her Communion. But Mayr-Lumetzberger would not stop. When it came to her, she was not given the Host. According to ecclesiastical law,someone excommunicated may not receive communion.

**Mayr-Lumetzberger took the host herself from the ciborium. **“I was there for all men and women in a similar situation in life,” she says in discussion with OÖN. Is it normal to receive the Host like this? “There are different models of the Communion,” she says. What did she feel? "In the first moment, nothing. But now I feel hurt and angry, like a woman who has been beaten for the first time by a man, "says Mayr-Lumetzberger.

Had she expected to receive Communion?" Yes. The Gospel is a higher authority than canon law. "Mayr-Lumetzberger is excommunicated since according to Canon Law ordination of priestesses is prohibited. It had however never happened that she did not receive the Host. The Church of St. Peter is her home parish. "I know Christine a long time. For me, she has never come for Communion. She knows what situation this would put me in "says Parish Priest Franz Zeiger. This Sunday, she came dressed as a Bishop to the Mass.

Do she wish to provoke and did she want to attract attention? "I cannot judge. But dress codes, I cannot enforce on anybody, "says Pastor Zeiger. Did he understand the attitude of Bishop Ludwig Schwarz? "Yes. in canon law he cannot. " Observers had the impression that the situation during the Mass was painful for Bishop Ludwig Schwarz.

I’m confused. How would she have supposedly became a Bishop in the first place? Did she make herself a bishop? Or did someone else say they did?

The claim is that a male Catholic bishop consecrated her as a bishop during a boat ride on the Danube River.

But apparently this bishop had already been excommunicated from the Catholic Church.
The women, from Germany, Austria and the US, were “ordained” a month ago on a ship on the Danube in Passau, by an Argentine bishop who is no longer recognised by the Catholic church.

It said the bishop, Romulo Antonio Braschi, had already been excommunicated for trying to ordain women in the past. The women say that their ordination by him was valid.

Why does she want the Eucharist anyway? Shouldn’t she just “consecrate” some for herself? Maybe deep down inside, she knows she can’t really consecrate anything for her orders are invalid.

This is theft plain and simple, and anti-Catholic bigotry.
 
All that she succeeded in doing is profaning the Body and Blood of our Lord and eating and drinking judgement upon herself.She is also a thief.She is to be pitied and prayed for.For her every day is hallowe’en.

She should have been forcibly removed by the men of the congregation before the profanity was allowed to have happened.By her mere presence she was causing a disturbance.

Austrian law does not see it like that.
Only if she had done it with the motive of enriching herself in an unlawful way she could have been arrested. If she had taken the chalice with the intention so sell it that would be so, but not by taking something with as little monetary value as a wafer to consume it herself without further gain.
(Just in case anybody understands this… “§ 127. Wer eine fremde bewegliche Sache einem anderen mit dem Vorsatz wegnimmt, sich oder einen Dritten durch deren Zueignung unrechtmäßig zu bereichern, ist mit Freiheitsstrafe bis zu sechs Monaten oder mit Geldstrafe bis zu 360 Tagessätzen zu bestrafen.”)
 
I suspect they will have to devise a method for stopping people intent on doing this…She could start a trend

Trend? Talking about something harmless… I saw two guys unpacking and eating their lunch on the altar of the Cologne Cathedral in Germany when I was there last time… It took 5 minutes for the stewards to realize it and take them away from there… I think the masses of people around the roped off altar tipped them off…

Yes there are getting to be quite a few of these women who claim to be Bishops…If they decide they are going to become faux Bishops, they may just decide they are going to receive the Eucharist too…These women are very brazen and have no respect for the magesterium

Well I kinda sorta… well I was talking about guys, average laymen, tourists in a Catholic cathedral in Cologne Germany (the place where the archbishop of Cologne celebrates the mass)…
 
This story is awful. Wasn’t there just a similar one here in the US where a college professer in essance stole a concecrated host to “study” it? There was an outrage among the Catholic Church because of that. This should be treated the same way, causing outrage. Because this woman shows no intention of repentance she should have been removed from the Church building. IMO, her very presence during Mass causes disruption. I fully support the Bishop who refused to give her communion.
