Exorcism rituals on the rise as way to battle evil of Mexican cartels

In the heavily Roman Catholic country of Mexico, exorcisms battle the evil violence of drug cartels, priests say. Also blamed for syndicate savagery is the rising popularity of Santa Muerte, folk saint of narcotics kingpins and some two million Mexican followers.

That’s a really bad cult. Many people consider themselves very “Catholic” but belong to that cult, here.

I’ve tried to talk 3 people out of being involved with it. One was reconsidering, but the others were strongly into it.

One place I went to where they rented rooms had many skulls on their doors, and I heard one there had a large statue of it.

They sell its statues at the entrance to a market within walking distance of where I live. Once, I also saw a place where they do ceramics have a very large statue to la “Santa Muerte”. I’ve seen this in a person’s home, as well.

People’s formation here is quite weak, and they can be pulled in all kinds of directions.

Something needs to be done. If exorcisms would help, I’d be all for that.
