Do you believe these new Revelations come from the God of the Bible ?

It is a good question, but I think History has proven that it is not a question that is answered as easy as it is asked.

Observation would show that a person’s frame of reference is an important factor as is nature and nurture.

Passages such as these become applicable;

Revelation 2:17 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give that person a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to the one who receives it.

Revelation 3:20’Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me. 21’He who overcomes, I will grant to him to sit down with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne. 22’He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’"

Why would God set up competing religions ?

Why would God set up competing religions ?
Baha’is believe that the spiritual truths of the great world religions are the same… It is the laws and ordinances that change from time to time to address the needs of His people.

So the “God of the Bible” is also the God of the later revelations.

Colin Dibdin wrote an essay sometime ago regarding a Baha’i view of the Bible that you may find of interest… He cites the following:

Manifold are the verses that have been repeatedly revealed in all the heavenly Books and the holy Scriptures,…"[23] (Bahá’u’lláh)

You must know the Old and New Testaments as the Word of God”[24] ('Abdu’l-Bahá)

Surely the Bible is the book of God”[25] ('Abdu’l-Bahá)

Arthra has replied to this and I would add that it is man that competes and not God.

God gives the messages to our capacity, in the age that it is suited.

2000 years ago one could not Consider World Peace, the world was not known. The Bible told us of a time where it would be so, but a certain series of signs and events would happen before it was to be so.

The only way to get these new revelations to mesh with the ones from the Bible is reinterpret and twist their meaning in a way to make them sound like they came from the same God.

Baha’u’llah…

As to thy question whether the physical world is subject to any limitations, know thou that the comprehension of this matter dependeth upon the observer himself. In one sense, it is limited; in another, it is exalted beyond all limitations. The one true God hath everlastingly existed, and will everlastingly continue to exist.** His creation, likewise, hath had no beginning**, and will have no end. All that is created, however, is preceded by a cause. This fact, in itself, establisheth, beyond the shadow of a doubt, the unity of the Creator.

So you are saying man never had the capacity to understand God back in the times of Jesus, so he sent Baha’u’llah to do that in the modern age ?

Why would God set up competing religions ?
The simple answer would be to teach us tolerance of other faiths and to love our brothers and sisters of other faiths.

It is instructive to note that the Samaritan sect of ancient times competed with Judaism and was considered a heresy by the same. But our Teacher chose a member of this so-called heresy to answer the question of “who, then, is my neighbor,” and to demonstrate how to follow our Creator’s primary law: Love Your Neighbor As Yourself.

For instance, in ancient times a world government was not a realistic possibility. Now, with the United Nations, we are half-way there. And, with the development of truly insane weapons that are fully capable of causing the extinction of the human race, that bona-fide world government has become an absolute necessity.

It is my understanding that Baha’u’llah’s edicts on the formation of world government had an influence on the formation of the League of Nations after WW I which in turn has led to the formation of the United Nations.

No, the new revelations says we don’t have LOVE our Neighbors, we only have prefer them to ourselves.

Jesus has already taught us this in the bible.
The Love and Tolerance has been shown to be a Oneness of Religion, a perfect orchestra of harmony under God… It was known that people of the time could not bear that extent of disclosure, but now the capacity is there to know this.

Did Jesus show Love to the money changers ?****
Definitely yes. A Baha’i would see this as condemnation of the actions of People, but does not subtract from the Love Christ would have for all of them.

Look at Paul, what did he do to early Christians, what did he become.

A money changer could repent and turn to Christ as well.

No, the new revelations says we don’t have LOVE our Neighbors, we only have prefer them to ourselves.
This is not correct. One writng may put it this way but here are a few more

“Ye are the fruits of one tree, and the leaves of one branch. Deal ye one with another with the utmost love and harmony, with friendliness and fellowship. He Who is the Daystar of Truth beareth Me witness! So powerful is the light of unity that it can illuminate the whole earth”. Baha’u’llah - Epistle to the Son of the Wolf

“It is not for him to pride himself who loveth his own country, but rather for him who loveth the whole world. The earth is but one country, and mankind its citizens”. Tablets of Bahá’u’lláh, Lawh-i-Maqsúd

“Be generous in prosperity, and thankful in adversity. Be worthy of the trust of thy neighbor, and look upon him with a bright and friendly face. Be a treasure to the poor, an admonisher to the rich, an answerer to the cry of the needy, a preserver of the sanctity of thy pledge. Be fair in thy judgment, and guarded in thy speech. Be unjust to no man, and show all meekness to all men. Be as a lamp unto them that walk in darkness, a joy to the sorrowful, a sea for the thirsty, a haven for the distressed, an upholder and defender of the victim of oppression. Let integrity and uprightness distinguish all thine acts. Be a home for the stranger, a balm to the suffering, a tower of strength for the fugitive. Be eyes to the blind, and a guiding light unto the feet of the erring. Be an ornament to the countenance of truth, a crown to the brow of fidelity, a pillar of the temple of righteousness, a breath of life to the body of mankind, an ensign of the hosts of justice, a luminary above the horizon of virtue, a dew to the soil of the human heart, an ark on the ocean of knowledge, a sun in the heaven of bounty, a gem on the diadem of wisdom, a shining light in the firmament of thy generation, a fruit upon the tree of humility”. Baha’u’llah - Epistle to the Son of the Wolf

In response to Techno2000 saying . . .

You said . . .

QUOTE:

But this has the built-in false pre-supposition that you cannot affirm the fullness of the truth, AND love your brothers and sisters of other faiths while affirming this FULLNESS of the Truth.

Your answer is also “intolerant” of the ONE fullness of Truth.

Your reply did not seem persuasive to me.

God bless.

Pope John Paul II addressing Muslin representatives in Belgium, 5/19/85:

“It is a good thing to come to understand each other by learning to accept differences, by overcoming prejudices in mutual respect,
and by working together for reconciliation and service to the lowliest.”
