Explosions near finish line of Boston Marathon

I read a book on the Boston Marathon, it has such a lore about it and has been around, I’m saying since 1877, it is basically the USA’s oldest sports event except maybe some horse race, Ky. Derby is old too.

Runner’s World have big forums on the Net, Runner’s World UK too, it’s a magazine, I’ll bet there’s a lot of discussion on this there.

Chris Matthews believes that it might be domestic. According to the Washington Examiner:
MSNBC’s Chris Matthews theorized this evening that the bombing in Boston today might be the result of a Tax Day protest – as it occurred on the deadline date for filing federal income taxes.

“As you point out, and I just forgot, I filed already. It’s filing day for the federal income tax, which does cause some emotions around the country – sometimes in the wrong parts of the brain anyway,” Matthews said during his show.

Matthews was interviewing Democratic Massachusetts Representative William Keating, who also cited tax day or Boston’s Patriots Day as a possible motive for the bombing.

Later in the program, Matthews continued to expand his theory, suggesting that the attacker could be “domestic.”
For what it’s worth, University of Dayton “expert” Mark Ensalaco is also convinced that it is right wing extremism as well:
“My immediate reaction is this is something similar to Oklahoma City and the Olympics in Atlanta,” said Ensalaco, who has studied political violence and terrorism for more than 25 years.

“Because it’s tax day and a holiday in Boston honoring revolutionaries who fought for America freedom, and many people from foreign nations were in attendance, I worry a right-wing extremist used a highly visible event such as the Boston Marathon to make a highly visible statement. It would be tragic if some mad man took a peaceful movement such as the tea party and acted in this way.”
I don’t agree…but, to be fair, I should post multiple theories as they come up.

This has the characteristics of an inside job: few casualties, dead boy to up the shock value, high emotion on race day, tax day, and patriot day, international event, unexploded bombs to imagine even more fear of what might have been. For once, I’d like someone from the lamestream media to just float it out there in the interest of true open-mindedness. But they’re all Owned. No more fertilizer for you. Here come the conspiracy theory epithets to ensure the proper Conformity and so that no one asks too many questions.

Chris Matthews should resign already. He has crossed the line too many times and his latest conspiracy theory that this is domestic tax terrorism is one bridge too far. Who takes this guy seriously?

There is more evidence at this point that this was a Satanic ritual killing (April 15th being numerically important to the Occult) than there is that it was domestic tax terrorism.

Mr. Matthews, if you are going to engage in conspiracy theories, at least engage in a well-documented, reasonable one.

The son of dear friends of ours was one of the first EMTs on the scene, and has just recently gotten home. He told his parents that it was like he was in a horror movie; many of the worst details haven’t yet come out.

My gut feeling is that it’s domestic, but, at this point, it’s hard to tell. Such an awful tragedy.

Perhaps, but I would say this: as heartbroken as I am about these terrible and senseless attacks, isn’t it sad to know that something like this has been happening in Afghanistan or Iraq every single day for ten years?

That’s what really grabbed me about this event. My own tears shed for the victims, and then the realization that I have been ignoring these things as they happen day after day after day for yeaaaaaaaaaaars, because they are happening to people that are not like me, they are “others.”

You’re right, those comments aren’t relevant, either.
But there really isn’t anything good to draw from this. At least not so quickly after it has happened. It’s a time for grief and investigation. I don’t expect anyone to look at the situation with joy at this time.

Good point. And it raises a question. Why is America still in Afghanistan after Obama promised in the first and second time running for president that he would pull us out? Yet, our troops are still over there getting shot and blown up for what? We captured Osama bin Laden.
