No one expects any better from a for profit media source. It is quite different with posters on a Catholic forum. I guess those who quickly politicized this follow Rahm Emanuel’s philosophy when it comes to a crisis.
I was surprised how Obama’s 3 minute address seemed emotionless, reading the teleprompter, like being there was his inconvenient obligation.

Bill Ayers planted bombs while with Weather Underground. Just sayin. If enough people beleive God doesn’t exist, then there is only Power. Power to create. Power to destroy.

O’Reilly is critical in this not being called a terrorist attack, 2 bombs go off in the span of 15 seconds, BOR has a point in that regard, Fort Hood is workplace violence according to Obama as well and those deceased were denied. Though I don’t agree with Bill O’Reilly, tragedies seem more to be earth quakes and car accidents.

President Kennedy was assassinated, that was a tragedy but overall, it was an assassination. Tragedy would seem to be a bit of a mild way to describe that event. Ditto for Pearl Harbor. Do we think of it as an attack or a tragedy? 911? Do we just call it a great tragedy?

However, I think this soon after the event, I can see why Obama might call it that, “terrorist attack” is a strong term to use. But it might be the proper term to use.

If Michelle Bachmann, Sarah Palin or John McCain used the term “tragedy” to describe 911, that would seem a bit of a mild way to put it and Obama after all, is the commander in chief, leader of the US in this vein. A high number of people have been maimed along with some deaths, the poor people.

The reason why I posted it was because the Commissioner and the Governor did a news conference live and they did report that this was an explosion.

Local news programs were reporting it…or getting tips that is was an electrical fire.

Apparently the commissioner thinks otherwise. The news programs started changing their stories immediately after this happened.
Unfortunately, the news said that it was a related explosion. The police commissioner was very careful to say that there had been an “event” at the library and they were not yet sure if it was related or not but that they were treating it as though it was related for obvious reasons.

Our Father, Who art in heaven
Hallowed be Thy Name;
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Thank you for confirming my point.

Exactly!

I wouldn’t trust anything this Government says, following Fast and Furious and Benghazi for instance.

Needless to say, this tragedy (like Sandy Hook) will be used by the Government to further restrict our 2nd Amendment and 1st Amendment rights.

Notice how quick the Media had all the facts following Sandy Hook. Heck, it wasn’t even 24 hours later and the case was closed on Sandy Hook and the political narrative was already being set in stone.

It is hard not to be cynical and mistrusting of the current rotten Government we have in power. After all, we do have a Government in power that is okay with state sanctioned Murder (abortion).

No, given the history of this current Government, I will take all the “official” reports from the “authorities” with a big grain of salt regarding this latest bit of Satanic activity in Boston.

St. Patrick and St. Michael the Archangel, we pray that you will intercede on behalf of the victims and expose and bring speedy Justice to those responsible. Amen.
Pushing a political agenda so soon after a tragedy when the facts are not known is in my not so humble opinion inappropriate and disrespectful.

We are less than 24 hours in to this…we do not know exactly what type of attack this was. Semantics seems a bit unimportant to me.

I am really upset with those that are already turning this into a political issue/conspiracy theory. We have no idea what happened yet, no idea who was behind it or why.

I believe people that are trying to make hay out of this right now should be ashamed of themselves.

There are people dead, including a child and many more fighting for their lives. We should pray for these people and their families and for the first responders that risked their lives to save others.

Save your political/conspiracy BS for another day and place!

As most of you know I am hardly a supporter of Pres. Obama but Bill O’Reilly is really getting on my nerves lately. Last night he said the President is wrong to call this a tragedy. Last time I checked when innocent people are dead and seriously hurt, that is a textbook definition of tragedy.

Perhaps I should cancel Fox News but I refuse to watch Chris Matthews!
Then don’t watch either Bill O’Reilly or Chris Matthews. Both of them are rather idiotic at times. Watch the BBC News, Deutsche Welle, Al Jazeera, or PBS instead.

Same here, can’t stand the “talking heads” and their need to create drama.

Fox News and MSNBC in my mind are the worst news organizations when it comes to bias. They are on opposite sides of the spectrum to be sure, but they are both really obviously pushing their agenda to the point that common sense goes right out the window.

And I believe President Obama through Jay Carney has indicated he thinks this could be over yesterday being “tax day.” Just saying.

Normally, prior to a big event, the police collect and remove trash cans and any other sort of receptacle that could be used to hide an explosive device and they circulate both in uniform and in plain clothes.

So … makes ya wonder … is all.
I don’t think they have ever done that over a 27 mile route. They also don’t do it at other sporting events. In fact, about the only time it is done is when the President is going to be around. So no it really does not make me wonder.
