Given Yahoo!s reputation, is it all that far-fetched that they’d go in for that kind of physical stereotyping? They wouldn’t be the first.

The image just had that distinctive look of having been tampered with, and looked very much like a deliberate caricature, the type of caricature that has historical antecedents, as a result. You don’t deny the past existence of such types of caricatures, do you?

Everyone can judge for himself. news.yahoo.com/stories-2-brothers-suspected-bombing-124623274.html
As someone that works with security video footage from time to time, the image does not look doctored to me, it looks like it is blocky which is often the case with lower quality cameras.

I’ll wait until officials are 100% sure of the bombers’ origins and motive before I reach any conclusions. There is much investigation yet to occur. However, it would not surprise me if the bombings were the work of Islamic terrorists. Time will tell and I’m willing to wait for the official FBI investigation results.
These two are terrorists and they are Islamic, so it is certainly the work of Islamic terrorists. We will have to wait and see if others were involved, or if it was religion that was the motivation. It may not have been religious, they were Chechens so it could be political. Or they could just be plain old crazy.

Possibly Suspect 2 down… reported, found bloody clothes in a little boat or something, bullets exchanged…

Yup, they have him in custody and is at the hospital in critical condition.

The people on the streets applauded the law enforcement officials upon learning that they had the suspect.

One officer announced into his bull-horn, “God Bless America, God Bless America.” 👍

The only inconsistency that bugs me is the photo of the exploded backpack. It appears to match the one held by the bearded caucasian in the blue jacket with the red t-shirt. Maybe we can get some clearer photos of all the packs.

I thought so too until I looked again at the photo. Red tshirt man had a holdall rather than a backpack.

What’s a holdall? It still appears to me like the guy with the red tshirt is holding a backpack on his forearm. No matter what you call it, the gray stripes on the black straps that the guy with the red tshirt match the photo of the exploded pack on the ground. I don’t see gray stripes on the backpack of the black hatted suspect, but it’s hard to tell from the fbi video. I’d like to see the fbi post some still photos of his pack, then I could put it to rest.

I don’t know what is the American word for a holdall, but it would be a bigger version of a cabin bag. The straps on a backpack extend in a V shape from the top of the bag whereas the straps on a holdall are positioned either side of the bag.

Regardless of how evil a person Dzokhar Tsarnaev may be, let us remember that he still deserves the right to a trial in a civilian court, and anything else will guarantee rampant speculation regarding the whole tragic affair.

ManOnFire is correct, reflective stripes are the clue as to the bag the bomb was in, they be from a back pack or holding bag or a gym bag or whatever. Reflective stripes and the fact the bag/pack was black. The difference doesn’t seem to matter.

Now if he’s gay too…everyone here will really have something to celebrate!!!
If I were a very conservative American, I would be asking why his classmates were singing his praises as though he were a victim of a conspiracy (similar but not as virulent as the line taken by his parents) rather than accepting the authorities’ version that he had been seen planting the bomb, and planting a bomb among civilians is not only illegal but evil. Did I hear one of his schoolteachers singing his praises too? For all anyone knows, he could have learned his “Jihad can be justified” belief in an American public school.

Such as at B.U. and the “Be a Muslim for the day” program. You can learn how liberating it is:thumbsup:

Did you see the lad who recognised the younger brother from the FBI photo yet didn’t call the police because he didn’t want to cause any trouble for his friend?

Exactly. Did you know that this guy put the bomb down right behind the little 8 yr old boy who was killed and his family? Not only did he bomb an innocent crowd of men, women and children, he used bombs that sprayed bb’s and nails to cause the most amount of harm and suffering. Not only that, he threw bombs at police, engaged in at least 2 firefights with them, killed/maimed 2 police officers, and even when he was surrounded in the boat, STILL refused to surrender. He is not a “victim” by any means. This is pure evil through and through.

I also think the 2011 US knowledge of their links to radical Islam being so quickly dismissed makes me a “little” skeptical. I suppose that’s followed as close as Eric Holder followed our already imposed gun control.

Something tells me, and we may never know if this is actually what happened, that the reason the second bomber was taken alive had to do with a phone conversation between Obama and Putin. From what I understand, the scanner chatter yesterday was laced with “don’t shoot”. This morning I hear that Russian investigators want access to this suspect. I have a feeling Putin “strongly encouraged” Obama to take the suspect alive.
