Explosives attached to a dog

IRAQ insurgents attached explosives to a dog today in a bid to bomb a military convoy near the northern oil centre of Kirkuk but the animal was the only casualty, police said.

That’s an old trick. The Russians used it against the Germans in WWII, but they trained the dogs first. It worked okay, too, until the Germans caught on and started shooting every dog in sight.

The Confederates put bombs on pack mules. Unfortunately, the mules became so attached to their owners, they followed them back to their lines an exploded.
