To add maybe a little light relief; if you have a waistline which would inspire lustful thoughts from showing a waistband be thankful to God you have that! (Any showing of mine would result in rather pitiful looks I would think.)

On a more serious note seek out a good priest who can help you look at things in perspective and overcome scrupulous thinking.

Hi everyone!
For what it’s worth, I am a man. I’m afraid reading what may have turned into a discussion of women’s undergarments may lead me into sin (again, possibly scrupulous), so would someone mind giving me a quick rundown of the verdict?

no

Deal with your scruples and God bless.
As a famous Dr once said:

“You wouldn’t wonder so much what people thought of you if you clearly understood how seldom they did”.

Yes it is a clinical term used by psychiatrists and medical professionals. When used by a lay person, it can often be used as a synonym for scrupulousness: 1. (of a person or process) diligent, thorough, and extremely attentive to details. 2. very concerned to avoid doing wrong.

Lay people can be imprecise in using terms of art.

Yes you are correct as to the definition. Here is my response: Are we sure that the clinical term referring to a diagnosis is what the OP meant? We don’t know. Was he diagnosed with this? No. So, I do not agree with assuming that he meant he had this diagnosis and responding to that assumption. That is why I made the comment above.
