Extreme unction and anointing of the sick--what's the difference

That’s an interesting viewpoint about the “mental sickness” of being a caregiver. But it’s a new one on me.
Ah well, I’m not the sacraments police, that’s above my pay grade, so I’ll leave it to the priests to decide who should get it. It’s on their head if they make a mistake.

As long as the matter and form remain intact, the sacrament is valid. Hope this article gives you some good references. Due to the fact that it is “Novus Ordo”, sedevacantists will most likely dismiss it entirely. Try to verify the information independently from the article to make your argument more effective against theirs.

I don’t know.

I think for the priests who give the Anointment of the Sick to family members, great stress caused by a loved one’s sickness is a “sickness” too.

Extreme Unction

Just to mention that you can receive the sacrament of Extreme Unction for a particular illness whereby death could be the likely result. If you receive the sacrament of Extreme Unction for that illness you can not receive it again for that particular illness when you are dying. You do not need to be actively dying to receive this.

Where as the sacrament for the Anointing of the Sick for a particular illness can be received more than once.
