Thanks. I really wish these ministries would put this type of info prominently on their web pages for the benefit of those of us who want to make sure we are attending legit events.
I agree. It took quite a bit of googling to figure that out. If you are legitimate, I don’t understand why you would not include this on your website some place.Thanks. I always leave before the dogs start barking.“Hey look at me, I’m so holy I fainted! Now watch as I dance around with this poisonous snake and speak in gibberish err I mean tongues!”
I mean come on. If tongues are onlu unstudied human languages how come they are understood by no one? Also consider that St. Paul lists interpretation of tongues as a spiritual gifting. Interpreting preaching in your native tongue isn’t a spiritual gift.2 For anyone who speaks in a tongue does not speak to people but to God. Indeed, no one understands them; they utter mysteries by the Spirit. 3 But the one who prophesies speaks to people for their strengthening, encouraging and comfort. 4 Anyone who speaks in a tongue edifies themselves, but the one who prophesies edifies the church.
You haven’t established any of this as non-Catholic worship. It is forbidden to actively participate in the worship of non-Catholics.
Clearly what’s going on here isn’t the apostles speaking dozens of languages at once. But rather the spirit is allowing each listener to hear it in his own language. So what language(s) were they speaking? Maybe a human language maybe not. You again have no means of making that assertion. (If one example isn’t enough it happens again in Revelations even more clearly where the two profits speak and all over the world every language is heard.)7 Utterly amazed, they asked: “Aren’t all these who are speaking Galileans? 8 Then how is it that each of us hears them in our native language?
