To Our Protestant Brethren…
In the world of varying denominations, Faith Alone means something different to each group of believers… Some think it simply means a belief in something that cannot be proven. others believe it is a spiritual thing that completely transforms a person.
For a moment, and solely for the sake of this thread, Drop any understanding you may currently have of the term Faith Alone…
IF the word faith simply means “A belief in something where there is no proof” (and only if) Would you still believe in Faith Alone.
I am not looking for reasoning on why this definition is or is not valid, so i respectfully request it not be taken in that direction. Just a simple yes or no with some reasoning… If faith meant that and ONLY that, would you still believe in Faith Alone as what you are really saying is Saved by believing alone…
I reiterate… do NOT look at this question from what YOUR understanding of “saved by faith alone” I want you to answer based on the understanding poised here… even if you do not agree with that understanding…
TO CATHOLICS… If a protestant says no we are not saved by THIS understanding of faith alone… do not use it to trap them in later threads… This thread is not meant as a trap… but more seeing what people believe when a definition is presented to them…
