Well, if it is not the Gospel of Jesus Christ, handed down to the Apostles, and entrusted to the only Church founded by Jesus and protected by the Holy Spirit… then you must be preaching the Gospel of men as you know it.
Not unusual for a Catholic who has left the Catholic Church.
I can only suggest a heavy dose of the Early Fathers. There you will see not only the Gospel message as the Early Church lived it, but also the same message, same teaching, same witness to Christ found only in the Catholic Church.
If you are familar with the law, then you know that the ‘law’ was corrupted.
The Pharisees, the judges of the law, had forgotten what the law was for.
They replaced it with ritual, long prayers, adornments.
They became proud.
"25And he said unto them, Have ye never read what David did, when he had need, and was an hungred, he, and they that were with him?
26How he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and did eat the shewbread, which is not lawful to eat but for the priests, and gave also to them which were with him?
27And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath:
28Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath."
They’re own self rightous was now the ‘way’…not the precepts of the law of God or of the Prophets.
Their very works and the law a stumbling block.
Much of what we see in the Churches today.
Romans 9:31
31But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness.
32Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone;
33As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
In short, the Temple was corrupted.
On the outside, they were ‘religious’, but Yeshua (jesus)condemed them for by their very works, they had become proud and fallen short of the rightous of the law of God.
Who is justified by the law?
None…
The law or works promote boasting in one’s own self rightousness, not the rightousness of Christ through the Cross.
Galations 3:10-12
10For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
11But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
12And the law is not of faith: but, The man that doeth them shall live in them.
Justified by Faith…
Romans 3:
26To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
27Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.
28Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.
Only by repentence and faith is one justified.
