People do not even know which direction to shoot them, August 2020. … There are some with just confetti. The main concern is the firwork fountains.

Let’s just pass a law that no one can find out the sex of the baby until baby is born. Problem solved…😆
The reality is, does anyone care, other than immediate family?

The doctor might if there is a genetic concern that’s effected by sex.

It seems very important to people that want to decorate their nurseries accordingly. Gift buying relatives and friends might like to know. Somehow, I survived not knowing the sex of either of my children until their birth…going so far as when my second was born and the doctor said, “it’s a girl”, I blurted out, “are you sure?” He laughed and assured me he could tell! Maybe it’s just because it was rare to know the sex of your child ahead of time back then but part of the fun of calling everyone to let them know you gave birth was to also let them know, It’s a boy/girl!

Besides genetics and decorating, I really can’t think of any reason to HAVE to know the sex. Any others?

Picking a name! Arrgh, how did parents pick names before sonography became routine?! Hundreds or thousands of years! How did they do it?!?!
Presumably doctors can find out without some sort of incendiary device as well.

They asked for a tablet and wrote, “His name is ____”

(25 points for the first one to fill in the blank correctly.)

The same way they did a lot of things before the modern era 🤷‍♂️ I’m sure that you could be just as easily judged for use of a smartphone. How did they do without one!? Thousands of years!?!?!?

I guess if you don’t know the sex ahead of time you have to do the harder work of picking a boys name AND a girls name. That’s we did. We tell our our daughter that she could have been Steven!. Our son, born first, would have been my daughters name…we kept it for 3 1/2 years to use for our daughter!
