Have there been any cases of any famous or noteworthy Catholics or Protestant Evangelicals becoming Muslim? And not necessarily conversions by the sword, but those that sincerely believe Islam to be the true path?
Peace pioNo wonder he went astray. It doesn’t look he’s a firm believer of the Christian faith.
He still didn’t find Jesus, but Jesus will find him.

Peace faith101,Just curious–how do you know someone is not a firm believer in the Christian faith or that they did not find Jesus peace be upon him? (besides ofcourse the fact that they left it)
Are you saying that if someone was born buddhist than found another religion that seemed to make more sense…and then converted to that…then decides to study all religions and finally settleed on Christianity, that they can not be called true followers of Christ? OR is it only when they switch OUT of Christianity.Peace faith101,
The fact that he jumped from one religion to another many times as shown in his testimony is a sign of a shaky faith.

When someone falls away from Christianity, particularly from Catholicism, one is called a heretic. A heretic is the one who is baptized but doesn’t believe in everything that the Church teaches and worst even believe in something apart from the Catholic faith. A true follower of Christ should believe in everything that the Catholic Church professes and believes. Are you saying that if someone was born buddhist than found another religion that seemed to make more sense…and then converted to that…then decides to study all religions and finally settleed on Christianity, that they can not be called true followers of Christ? The above link to a story.By the way, which convert are you talking about?
These people did. They believed everything that the church professes but it still diddnt sit right with them…wasnt comfortable. After a lot of research and soul-searching they found something that does make sense…and now believe that they follow Christ more than they ever have before…with conviction.hlgomez said:When someone falls away from Christianity, particularly from Catholicism, one is called a heretic. Faith, are you saying that by their conversions to Islam they follow Jesus Christ even better than before by accepting Mohammed? You can’t be serious! That’s absolutely ridiculous. These people did. They believed everything that the church professes but it still diddnt sit right with them…wasnt comfortable. Actions speak louder than words. These people did. They believed everything that the church professes but it still diddnt sit right with them…wasnt comfortable.

Yes, that is what I am saying. Muslims pride themselves in being the “true Christians”…those who follow the message of Jesus Christ, may God’s peace and blessings be upon him
If you believe in the Qur’an being the word of God.Yes, that is what I am saying. Muslims pride themselves in being the “true Christians”…those who follow the message of Jesus Christ, may God’s peace and blessings be upon him
Sahih Muslim Book 8 Number 3371:Also (forbidden are) women already married, ** except those (captives and slaves) whom your right hands possess.** Thus has Allâh ordained for you. All others are lawful, provided you seek (them in marriage) with Mahr (bridal money given by the husband to his wife at the time of marriage) from your property, desiring chastity, not committing illegal sexual intercourse, so with those of whom you have enjoyed sexual relations, give them their Mahr as prescribed; but if after a Mahr is prescribed, you agree mutually (to give more), there is no sin on you. Surely, Allâh is Ever All-Knowing, All-Wise. (Translated by Muhammad Al-Hilali and Muhammad Khan.)
Thus the Qur’an supports the ahadith, the chain is short and the narrators are trustworthy.Abu Sirma said to Abu Sa’id al Khadri (Allah he pleased with him): 0 Abu Sa’id, did you hear Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) mentioning al-'azl? He said: Yes, and added: We went out with Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) on the expedition to the Bi’l-Mustaliq and took captive some excellent Arab women; and we desired them, for we were suffering from the absence of our wives, (but at the same time) we also desired ransom for them. So we decided to have sexual intercourse with them but by observing 'azl (Withdrawing the male sexual organ before emission of semen to avoid conception). But we said: We are doing an act whereas Allah’s Messenger is amongst us; why not ask him? So we asked Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him), and he said: It does not matter if you do not do it, for every soul that is to be born up to the Day of Resurrection will be born
And now the connection of the verse and the ahadith.Abu Sa’id al-Khudri said: The Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him) sent a military expedition to Awtas on the occasion of the battle of Hunain. They met their enemy and fought with them. They defeated them and took them captives. Some of the Companions of the Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him) were reluctant to have intercourse with the female captives in the presence of their husbands who were unbelievers. So Allah, the Exalted, send down the Qur’anic verse: “And all married women (are forbidden) unto you save those (captives) whom your right hand possess.”[Surah 4:24] …Sunan Abu Dawud, Book V, Chapter 711, Number 2150
