Have there been any cases of any famous or noteworthy Catholics or Protestant Evangelicals becoming Muslim? And not necessarily conversions by the sword, but those that sincerely believe Islam to be the true path?

No wonder he went astray. It doesn’t look he’s a firm believer of the Christian faith.

He still didn’t find Jesus, but Jesus will find him.

Peace pio

Just curious–how do you know someone is not a firm believer in the Christian faith or that they did not find Jesus peace be upon him? (besides ofcourse the fact that they left it)

Peace faith101,

The fact that he jumped from one religion to another many times as shown in his testimony is a sign of a shaky faith.

Are you saying that if someone was born buddhist than found another religion that seemed to make more sense…and then converted to that…then decides to study all religions and finally settleed on Christianity, that they can not be called true followers of Christ? OR is it only when they switch OUT of Christianity.

By the way, which convert are you talking about?

When someone falls away from Christianity, particularly from Catholicism, one is called a heretic. A heretic is the one who is baptized but doesn’t believe in everything that the Church teaches and worst even believe in something apart from the Catholic faith. A true follower of Christ should believe in everything that the Catholic Church professes and believes.

The above link to a story.

These people did. They believed everything that the church professes but it still diddnt sit right with them…wasnt comfortable. After a lot of research and soul-searching they found something that does make sense…and now believe that they follow Christ more than they ever have before…with conviction.
The above link to a story.
all 3 of them?

The first story: The man was so confused, he did not impress me as even telling a real story. He was saying things that are not believeable, not because he is Muslim, but because he was saying things about his background that make no sense.(I grew up around the kind of conservative Christians he speaks of; he misrepresents them. He is clear about his present belief, but his past is, IMHO, a concoction.
Second story: A sad, confused soul who has wandered from one faith to another, in search of a home. He sounds like a “hippy” caught out of time.
Third story: The quotes from the Bible are not correct. It is not a question of different versions; they are not even close. They are either inventions, or he has muddled his references so badly, it is impossible to take him seriously.
I have no doubt that the 1st & 3rd are sincere Muslims, but I don’t buy their back stories.
The 2nd man, I predict will have a 1/2 dozen more religions before he leaves this world. He is a “floater”…He changes to whatever suits him at the time.
God bless.

Faith, are you saying that by their conversions to Islam they follow Jesus Christ even better than before by accepting Mohammed? You can’t be serious! That’s absolutely ridiculous.😃

Actions speak louder than words.

 Oh really. Do you know what Christ means? And do you know what it means by being a follower of Christ? Get back to the action even before the birth of Islam, say sometime around 100-400 AD. You will see how Christians lived and died for their faith in Christ. Read the writings of the early Christian fathers such as Justin Martyr, Hippolitus, Ignatius of Antioch, Clement of Rome, etc. They are the ones who followed Christ with authentic conviction, not pseudo-Christianity. And they are the models of the modern day Christianity–same faith in Christ, same Sacraments, down thru the ages. Not mere modifications.

Yes, that is what I am saying. Muslims pride themselves in being the “true Christians”…those who follow the message of Jesus Christ, may God’s peace and blessings be upon him

If you believe in the Qur’an being the word of God.

Then you cannot believe in Jesus Christ, even as a prophet.

Read Matthew 5-7.

These laws, are completely refuted in the Qur’an.

Allah actually says that you may have sex with women your “right hand” possesses.

The “right hand” is the hand of strength, effectively you may have sex with any woman you capture as booty in war.

This is supported by many ahadith of the Sahih Muslim and Sahih Bukhari collections.
**
Effectively all those women raped in bosnia, the rapists are not breaking divine law according to Allah.
**
Here is the sura and ahadith in question
Surah An-Nisâ' 4:24:
Also (forbidden are) women already married, ** except those (captives and slaves) whom your right hands possess.** Thus has Allâh ordained for you. All others are lawful, provided you seek (them in marriage) with Mahr (bridal money given by the husband to his wife at the time of marriage) from your property, desiring chastity, not committing illegal sexual intercourse, so with those of whom you have enjoyed sexual relations, give them their Mahr as prescribed; but if after a Mahr is prescribed, you agree mutually (to give more), there is no sin on you. Surely, Allâh is Ever All-Knowing, All-Wise. (Translated by Muhammad Al-Hilali and Muhammad Khan.)
Sahih Muslim Book 8 Number 3371:
Abu Sirma said to Abu Sa’id al Khadri (Allah he pleased with him): 0 Abu Sa’id, did you hear Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) mentioning al-'azl? He said: Yes, and added: We went out with Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) on the expedition to the Bi’l-Mustaliq and took captive some excellent Arab women; and we desired them, for we were suffering from the absence of our wives, (but at the same time) we also desired ransom for them. So we decided to have sexual intercourse with them but by observing 'azl (Withdrawing the male sexual organ before emission of semen to avoid conception). But we said: We are doing an act whereas Allah’s Messenger is amongst us; why not ask him? So we asked Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him), and he said: It does not matter if you do not do it, for every soul that is to be born up to the Day of Resurrection will be born
Thus the Qur’an supports the ahadith, the chain is short and the narrators are trustworthy.
Abu Sa’id al-Khudri said: The Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him) sent a military expedition to Awtas on the occasion of the battle of Hunain. They met their enemy and fought with them. They defeated them and took them captives. Some of the Companions of the Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him) were reluctant to have intercourse with the female captives in the presence of their husbands who were unbelievers. So Allah, the Exalted, send down the Qur’anic verse: “And all married women (are forbidden) unto you save those (captives) whom your right hand possess.”[Surah 4:24] …Sunan Abu Dawud, Book V, Chapter 711, Number 2150
And now the connection of the verse and the ahadith.

Together, this is unassailable truth that one cannot believe the Qur’an and Jesus Christ.

Muslims do not follow Isa ibnu Allah
